| All phish related material that comes out of the higher ground seems more of a joke than anything else. It seems Trey just uses it as the spot to unleash his new shit and thats about it. We'll see what happens when these guys get a few more shows under there belt, then I think we can all "rip the shit out of anything they do" and not feel bad about it. Cause thats the only thing I notice lately about treys so-called fans. It truly is a love hate relationship for a lot of people. |

Thanks so much for this. I was very interseted to hear Trey's new work.
As for the negative comments earlier: This is a music hub and commenting on sound quality does not make someone a prick. Describing the sound quality as "poopy" does not really convey any aspect of the sound either. |

As I said on the other source comment page and got no response......this is weak for Trey! I am a huge fan so don't bother with the bullsh$# responses to this, but I am 32 years old and have seen a lot of Trey in my day and this is just rediculous! My opinion...

| Not to harsh on Trey too much but after listening to this show once through I certainly was dissapointed in the sense of I was expecting to hear a new sound ala Oysterhead. To me this isn't anything to write home about. Associating a musician who went from an amazing, exploratory band to pale shades can sound dis-heartening. In a lot ways Trey is comparable to Michael Jordan in that after hiatus the fire burned out... |

| I guess trey is just simplify things and have a smaller band with the musicians being more as indivisuals. rather than the big band sound with trey orchastrating them what to do...I enjoy the big band sound with the horns and miss jennifers vocals but i can see this working for trey I just hope the other guys in the band will add to the sound i think the drummer is really good, i guess time will tell |

| I miss the horns. I don't this show sucks, but its not very good... point blank. Granted this was the first show but I probably won't make as much an effort to see TAB this summer. |

I would have to agree, that this is a pretty big disappointment.
It's safe to say that Trey is becoming what he so feared he'd become "A nostalgia act".
Polite applause at best from the audience, lots of talking, obviously the people at the show weren't exactly blown away either.
Maybe Trey has lost his fire for doing this. |

| When I listened to this show from an objective point of view (very hard to do given my personal history) I felt like it was a good show. However, I when I look at this show knowing that it is Trey Anastasio... it falls short. I expected something new and all I got were covers. Covers of Phish, covers of TAB, covers of the Beatles. Not a bad show but this band is really lacking an identity. |

Why cant people just appreciate what the man is doing. Or start you own band and do better. That is what I am doing. Parker's Project will be heard of, until then I will enjoy the music that I am offered and keep the opinion positive even if it isn't honest. To make you guys laugh, I actually haven't finished downloading the show, but reading the bad reviews makes me disappointed with the good music scene. It is truly sickening

I have to weigh in on this one.....
I saw TreyBand's 10 piece debut in Seattle in whatever the fuck it was, 2001?
I thought it was pretty lame, lacking in energy, shredding and overall was kind of sad. I actually considered leaving, and I think I did leave early.
Fast Forward to Las Treygas 2001, same tour, same musicians, same songs.
I had my mind blown. Those shows were outstanding, and I was sober for every last one of them(I was in the middle of shooting a movie). I actually uttered the question "Better than Phish?", not as a statement mind you, but as an acknowledgement that TAB at that time was a peak musical experience.
Two things I learn from this: That expectation can kill any appreciation you have of anything. If you expect strawberry and get chocolate you just won't be satisfied, even though the chocolate is pretty damn good.
Never, ever, EVER count this guy out. Trey is sick. Otherwise we wouldn't be clamoring over what is ostensibly a "practice show". He has given us a lot of joy and fun over the years with his music, the least we can do is let this play out a little bit before we rush to any judgements. |
