Lets face it.... this show was an uninspired flop in an otherwise amazing tour. The band obviously hadn't been practicing since NYC, but don't write a bad review just becasue you don't like Trey to begin with. He will rise again, jump out of his rut, and start playing like we all know he can. Trey's the man, so get off his back, chill out, and enjoy his music while he's still around.---Peace...Love...Rock n' Roll

karl denson was wayyyyyyyy HOTTER than trey's show...sorry, i love phish but man...my hope for a better trey is depleting more and more each day

Thanks for putting this out there. What a glow stick war during the first 2 songs. This was not as good a show as Trey's new band is capable of. They sounded much cleaner in NYC and in Charlotte and Atlanta, but this was still an awesome show to be at. Funk#49 was a refreshing new jam, and the night speaks rocks. Wish phish was back, but Trey is still the man.

i just wanted to make sure that if anyone randomly went to this forum and saw the various bitching and sniping, that they could just read this comment and be done with it.

This show rocked, OK? I know there are people who hate Trey now, and hate him all you want. Call him a sell-out for playing (and nailing) a Van Halen son (Van Halen!) with some dude you think is a sell-out. Say he sucks now, say he doesn't care, say Phish was better, say whatever you want.

Then, listen to this "Night Speaks To A Woman" with thousands of music fans throwing glow-in-the-dark pool toys and glowsticks, smoke some weed and maybe even take some acid, and tell me that you're not having the time of your life.

If that's not fun for you, then why did you go to Bonnaroo in the first place?
if you didn't go, then listen to the music.
If you don't like music, then maybe you can find better things to do than frequent websites that host Trey shows.
Or you can at least shut the fuck up.

I was not happy (but not suprised) to read a review about Bonnaroo that mentioned how the writer was not pleased to see that American Idol runner-up Bo Bice was a performer. I understand that because he was on that TV show that some may automatically assume that he's just commercialized pop crap and not worthy of a listen. But just because this guy was on American Idol doesn't necessarily mean he sucks and that no one of with any musicial talent would want to work with him.

I myself have become hooked on Bo Bice. Yes, a contestant from the American Idol TV show. I never watched that show, but someone told me I might like this guy Bo Bice who sang mostly southern rock. He's 29, a musician who has played in bands for years (was working in a music store) -- and tried out for the pop show on a dare from his mom and ended up doing really well. Yes, there's a credibility issue with him having been on the show, but just in the last few months, so many artists have said nice things about him - besides getting to perform at Bonnaroo -- Willie Nelson has invited him to do a song onstage, he's receiving the Jim Croce Music award this month (he did "Time In A Bottle" on the show), etc. He even now friends with Scott Ian from Anthrax. He has a song on the new Santana album even (well, RCA/Clive Davis got him this, but still). Honestly though, if talk to anyone who knows Bo or has experienced his music, Bo is the real deal -- this guy lives and breathes music. I'm hoping people will give him a chance -- he's all heart and soul and he just wants to make good music that people will love.

From the moment I saw him go out there and do "Whipping Post" (or Badlands "In A Dream" acappella) on a fluff show like that, I just couldn't help myself. He’s just so genuine and amazing live on stage. I just really dig his voice and his laid-back, funny/dorky hippy personality. I just get this positive vibe from him -- and from everything I've read, he's all about the music. He's made me fall in love with music all over again. He just seems so real and down to earth, yet so talented. He's humble, he's funny, and he really cares about what's important.

Here's an interview article MTV did with him:

Voodoo Child (live tour video, Bo playing guitar):

You can also find more info at http://bonafidebice.com (great Bo forum there with many downloads, etc.)

Thanks for your time.

Thanks,
Erica

I don't know how many of you were there, but maybe if you are just listening to the recording you don't truly understand how big of a let down this show truly was. I love Phish, I loved TAB, but this show was honestly one of the most lackluster performances I have ever witnessed. It was shameful.
