thanks for this. did you get the late night show, too?
CivetCat 2005-11-07 09:19:19
No, just this set. Wish I had taped the late night set.

I have the late night show,(flacs) how do I put it on here? Do I just use my bit torrent client? I would love to spread the cheese if someone can help :) thnx in advance!

It's pretty easy - just click the 'Upload' button at the top of the web page and read the instructions. You need to create a .torrent file to upload. If you are using the Azureus client, from the menu bar select File | New... to open a wizard that will guide you through the process. If you are using another client, check to see if it supports creating torrent files. If not, download the 'completedir' utility from the official bit torrent web site. Before you start, create a folder that contains only the files you want to upload. Then create the .torrent file. Finally, upload it to etree. And when you create the .torrent file, be sure to enter the correct URL for the etree tracker.

Do you plan on seeding the Slightly Stoopid set? I don't know much about the band, but a friend of mine who went to Vegoose said they were incredible. If you don't, it doesn't matter that much because I am extremely grateful for all of the Vegoose seeds you have submitted. A simple thanks just doesn't cut it, but that is all I can muster up.

Great day time show. May have been the best of the Vegoose Festival (not including late night shows).

Did the late night Vegoose SCI set which was uploaded this morning get yanked?
BoogieOnAndOn 2005-11-08 12:26:06

I did post the link to the Slightly Stoopid set and setlist under CivetCats 2nd day sets. They are in .wav format but they sound great. Hope it helps

Where did the late night Orleans show go? :(
car_uh 2005-11-08 23:18:35
I downloaded this show last night & Im listening to it now... everything sounds fine but "One Step Closer" won't play... it plays a little into the song and then just skips to the next song. Even if I put it on a playlist by itself it plays maybe 30sec in and then quits. What's up? :(

any one looking for the late night show can find it on the archive. I'm almost done dl it, so I can't comment on the quality.

car_uh - It seems like you might have an incomplete or corrupted copy of sci2005-10-29d2t3.flac, which is the song "One Step Closer". That shouldn't happen when downloading using bit torrent, but who knows?

If you are running Windows -
Launch Windows Explorer and browse to the folder containing the flac files for sci2005-10-29.
Right-click the file named sci2005-10-29d2t3.flac, then chose 'Properties' from the context menu.
The file size should be 42.8 MB (44,965,362 bytes).

If you see a smaller file size, somehow your bt client didn't download the complete file. If the size is correct, the file is probably corrupted.

Launch FLAC Frontend, click 'Add Files', navigate to the folder with the SCI show, and select all the FLAC files. Then click the 'Test' button and make sure you see 'Ok' for all the files, especially sci2005-10-29d2t3.

Let me know what you find. I've checked the files on my computer and they are fine. I played both the flac and wav versions of 'One Step Closer' using WinAmp without problems; it should be 9:22 in the time display.

I'm pretty darn sure the problem is on your end. The etree tracker is now showing 280 downloads of my SCI Vegoose recording, and yours is the first problem report. I'll be glad to help you track down and resolve whatever is wrong.

I am running a mac. The file in iTunes SAYS the length is 9:22, but the file size is only about 5.2MB. I re-downloaded the show last night, and I'm trying to convert it from FLAC right now, and it's not working *at all.* I've never had this kind of problem before... I always convert my FLAC files to .aiff and then put them in iTunes and delete thte FLAC (space issues). I convert them using FLACer. I've been trying to convert this one file (only the corrupted one) for over 20 minutes now and it refuses to run to completion.
car_uh 2005-11-10 10:06:05
Ooh! It just worked and seems to be playing fine now. Not sure what the problem was... but... okay!
CivetCat 2005-11-10 20:01:21
car_uh - Glad the problem seems to have solved itself. It might be related to some small incompatibility between FLACer on the Mac and FLAC Frontend on Windows. Its odd that it would only show up on that one song. As you can see by scanning the comments for this show, no one else has reported any problems.
