In my opinion, The Live at the Keystone Vol 1 & 2 remains an underrated and overlooked gem in the Garcia discography....I can not recommend them enough to any lover of jazz music or Garcia's musical legacy. (You can skip Vol. 3 in my opinion.) I also highly recommend "Blues from the Rainforest". It is very "new agey" but never pretentious. Garcia stars on a few tracks.
THANKS FOR THIS DOWNLOAD!! |

Beware of the incredibly HIDEOUS vocals of Sarah Fulcher on this one folks. Easily the worst I've ever heard from anyone PERIOD. No wonder Garcia punted her after a few months. Despite this shortcoming, there's some AMAZING Garcia here.

How many tracks does she sing on? I can't think of the date, but I have another one with her singing on it and it is horrible, I don't know if I can ever listen to it again.

Sara sings on Honey Chile, Expressway, and Georgia. I think it was her style, sorta jazzy, but a bit screechy at times too. Anyway, who can tell me who is playing the second guitar on this?...

Man Felcher makes the worst Donna Playin' wails seem like Sarah Mclachlan or something. Seriously. For me, the tunes she screams on are totally unlistenable.

Yes, we could all do without Sarah's vocals but this is still a show with awesome highlights. Don't let the comments deter you from downloading.

Oh, and that's Tom Fogerty on 2nd guitar.
Jerry Garcia - guitar, vocals
Merl Saunders - keyboards, vocals
John Kahn - bass
Bill Vitt - drums (Bill Kreutzmann replaced Vitt on many occasions during this period)
Tom Fogerty - guitar, vocals
Sarah Fulcher - vocals (1-15-1973 to 5-5-1973)

The second guitarist is Tom Fogerty, per thejerrysite.com
This is good stuff, whether you like Fulcher or not. |

Anyone else hear a lot of static on How sweet It is, and I believe Dixie as well? It appears to be coming from Sara's mic, pretty much unlistenable. The sound though is kick ass...thank you!!

Yes, there is static on d2, part of the problems referred to in the info file, I gather.

Well, isn't that a nice comment. Listen to the files first and then if you don't like them, delete them. I have never seen this anywhere else in life. You hand something out for free and some people say, "I don't like it, it really sucks" or"don't you have the other version, I don't like this one". Unbelievable.

Hi Everyone, Sara also sings on How Sweet It Is. On my copy, every song she sings on has this awful crackling sound. Don't know if it's from her mic or what but I have to agree that this is a wonderfully played show that has it's potmarks that seemingly come on the tracks that Sara contributes on. I appreciate the music. Bless you.
