Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

thanks for the positive sound assessment, Chris - I know there are some mic adjustments during the first few songs (I'm guessing the mics were not on a 7' pole for all to see ;)
regarding the volume level change during Dire Wolf, I had written on my tape j-card: "Jamie discovers the 20 dB limiter switch!"
I'd say that overall this recording ranges from very good to excellent - quite amazing considering I've been playing it for over 20 years!
feel free to comment further on the sound - thanks!

Hey Zeb,
Thought I had all the Garcia shows from the Aud, but I guess not.
Thanks to you and David for getting this out, and Jamie for the original tape.

Just my .02 about the sound quality. It is a pretty clean tape except for some microphone bumps here and there. Jamie paused in between songs which results in some of the first notes of songs to be clipped.
The tape is a bit heavy on the high end and that causes some of Kahn's bass to be hidden. My guess is that Dolby was misused somewhere along the way (Dolby-encoded tape played back without Dolby). I'd love to get either the master or the 1st gen but neither is available.
Either way, thanks to Zeb for getting the tape to me. It is a very nice show, especially the late show.
Enjoy. |

I agree with sound assessment. Some bumps here and there, but not a problem. The acoustic shows from June of 82 feature some of Jerry's best playing and this show is no exception. For the acoustic stuff, because levels are more of an issue, I generally prefer boards, but this show should be listened to regardless. Next to 6/26, I would have to say this one of the top shows from this acoustic run and the audience reactions kind of spice it up for me. Brings me back to some of those moments during shows when you just realized you heard something special, you would probably never hear again.
Thanks again to everyone involved! |

David, you did a nice job with this old tape of mine! I listened to it cranked up with the car windows down today - sounded great!
I always thought this was a special tape, not only because I saw the show, but also because it sounds so good for a quiet gig with a rowdy audience!
thanks again and again!
