This was a very special night, with the jamming right next to the Woodstock '69 site and coming on the 11th anniversary of Jerry's last show. THANK YOU PHIL, Friends, Trey, Mike, Duo, and especially Rob for taping and getting it torrented so quickly.

i am new to this site... how can i download this show

Read or download a bit torrent program...from an email to a friend. I can't winamp to use flacs so I've been using Windows Media Player. But before that you need to:

Yes, if you have a program to download it. Here is a good one to have. http://sourceforge.net/projects/azureus/

There is other programs you can find here. http://wiki.etree.org/index.php?page=BitTorrent

Save the torrent (I do this because I don't have to go back to the site if I temporarily close the torrent down) from the show you want to download and then open it and it will ask you where you want to save the file. Find a music drive you use all the time.

Good Luck!

Lesh has this on his site today:

"July 9th Bethel, NY - Free Soundboard Download Coming Soon - Stay Tuned"

Also today, the NYTimes had an article about how Rhino is taking over the Dead's music and licensing stuff.

Meanwhile, Phil keeps playing and Rob Clarke, bless his heart and rig, keeps on posting these wonderful recordings. Thanks, gents....

This is as good as it gets these days... I went to the SPAC show and was personally hoping for a better set at this show. Show started with a four-and-some minute jam without a hint as to what they'd be going into... then a killer Shakedown Street > Cumberland Blues for a half-hour non-stop opener. Rob Baracco (as he was at SPAC) was on all night, along with Phil, and the two of them lifted everybody else until the whole band was cookin'.

Overall, I would have to say every song from this show was at least good, while most were awesome. In addition to the opener, the Uncle John's Band > Jam > St. Stephen > Mama Tried was just fun, another half-hour-plus run, and St. Stephen all the way until Turn On Your Lovelight was a duplicate of their set at Woodstock, almost 37 years later. The three-song encore was a tribute to Jerry, as the day was the eleven-year anniversary of the last Grateful Dead show at Soldier Field in Chicago (silly me only realized this during "Box of Rain" when the Soldier Field show shirt I saw someone wearing finally "clicked" in my brain). For these reasons alone, Phil and everyone involved were pulling out all stops to have an insane show. This was yet another enormous thank you from Phil to his fans, as well as a very fitting tribute to end a great night.

The SBD will be available for free soon. I'm definitely going to keep a copy of this recording too, it's got great sound as well as some audience reception, enough to accentuate the music without overpowering. Feels like I'm back there again...

Hi dude3480,

Follow Azureus instructions as advised but if you have problems post again and someone will help out. I use Azureus.

Are you okay with flac files? If not there are many options but I use Flac Frontend to convert to audio:
http://flac.sourceforge.net/

If you want to play flac on the PC - I use Foobar2000, it plays shn also:
http://www.foobar2000.org/

Looking forward to this show, Thanks Phil and all involved.

Greg
