The Story form my original B&P offer many moons ago.............Kirk

==================================================================================

Time For #2 From The Cabinet offer.

Now befor I make the offer I want to preface it with this. If this
hadn't actually happened to me I would doubt if the story was true.
If ya don't belive me it can be verified by a hardcore fishhead on
the KOD and his now wife who was there.

As far as I know NO ONE has this, I have NEVER seen it in
circulation. On to the story, Bob Weir made a short tape in '91 to
give out to his friends at christmas. I happened to meet his
personal trianer at someone's house and she said "here try playing
this". SO, instead of just playing it I copied it (with her
permission). Unfortunatly the only deck at My friends mothers house
was a dubbing deck. Don't ask me what, it was way too long ago. So I
have put two versions of the transfer on one cd. ONe with dolby and
one with out. Maybe someone out there could take the time to make
this excelent recording perfect, I lack the technology. Trades or
B&P, I'll take more than I can probably handle, Kirk

==================================================================================
And the reply to the B&P offer
==================================================================================

Re: Two from the cabinet (w/long story)

Lies, lies,nothing but lies. :o)

Actually this is a confirmation of Kirk's tale. It happened at my
mother-in-law's house ('I love my mother-in-law, I love my mother-in-law, I
love my mother-in-law', - Fred Flinstone). According to Robin, the trainer's
name was Dee.

Important news from bt.etree.org!

Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.

If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.

Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.

This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.

For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.

Thanks, and happy downloading.

Let me be the first to thank you for seeding this gem.........
btet 2006-09-18 06:50:44
And let me be the second! "Scaring the Children", great title, lol, after listening to one of the cuts I understand why. :-)

Two corrections to the setlist. Track 5 = The Christmas Song (also known as "Chestnuts Roasting O'er an Open Fire")
Track 6 = God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

Thanks again!

Go with the non-Dolby. Sounds closer to what a pro musician would give his friends, also has more of that characteristic, clanging Bobby sound.
rev_pyro 2006-09-18 21:50:44
listened to a few songs off it, sounds pretty cool, thanks

It is about time some Weir & Wasserman stuff appeared. The acoustic set they did with Ratdog were always a highligt of the shows for me. I was vry sad when I heard Wasserman left Ratdog.

In three decades of shows and t-shirts, "Scaring the Children" was and is at the top of the list for both. I break out the t-shirt every Halloween. Thanks for seeding this - awesome!
cowboyleon 2006-09-19 21:36:23
Awesome! Thanks for posting this!
voyces 2006-11-19 11:36:29
Thanks for this!
zdaudert 2007-11-24 23:17:30
If anyone out there has this please seed. I would love to have this - been scouring the web for Bob and Rob music. Thanks!
TimeOnTarget 2010-06-17 16:08:17
If someone would please be so kind as to reseed this, I would greatly appreciate it (as would at least one other peer).

I am just TOO curious to hear what this sounds like.

Judging from the comments, it is pretty unusual-- e.g. can see why it named "Scaring the Children."

Thanks,

Glenn
