bt.etree March 2006, by Andrew F.
I used Soundforge to make fades, small edits, and patch-in an alternate
source over cuts and tape-flips. The patches are in the following spots:
- He's Gone, 0:00 > 0:07
- Smokestack, 7:54 > 7:56
- Drums, 4:33 > 6:28
- Space, 0:00 > 0:13
Thank you! to Ray Ackerman for the alternate source AUD discs.
The first notes are slightly clipped on Bertha, West LA, and CC Rider.
(This was also present on the alternate AUD source, so they couldn't
be patched.) There's brief muffling of the left channel, 4:03 > 4:09
of Bro Easu, and 8:35 > 8:40 of Shakedown.
This is a really hot show, and a seriously in your face recording.
You can burn this in various configurations. I laid out the tracks
so that Drums and Space would be seamless. To fit the show onto two
700-MB discs, you have to break discs between Shakedown and Samson.
Shakedown features Jerry's famous and often-repeated opening line
lyrics for 1984: "Na-nuh-na, Nuh-na-na-nuh". ENJOY !

Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

Hey mac, check my other posts in the 10/84 seeds of mine. I mention many times getting crushed at this show and packing up. That could have been me with those Beyers, but there were at least 2 others with M88's this tour.
Thanks for this. I've had the board of this, but my aud collection of this tour is now complete. |

Oh baby! Hey Mac, I thought you said you started the tour with the Berkeley shows? You also did Cuse? Sweet. I've had a hand-held version for at least 20 years, with somebody saying after Jack Straw "...I can't hear a thing," from the 1st set decibles. I only thought the rest of the show was so-so, until I heard the SBD last year on LMA. I've upped my opinion since then. Jerry sounds better than I remembered.
BTW, thanks GDTRNFB for the upload. I'm really syched to hear this AUD. And it only took 8 hrs to download. |

| So what the hell. I'm goin' fer broke. Anybody have a good FOB of 4.17.82. I asked CM about it this spring, and he said Eaton did one, and Mark Lindenbaum has a copy from somebody else. I hate the SBD. My AUD sounds monumental compared to it. That UJB > NFA is one of my favorite passages ever. Thanks for any help. |

Hey LRWB, this one is still active...
http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=27462
Not FOB, but not bad either. I've never seen or heard Eaton's 4-17. Can anyone contribute that?... |
| lilrichwhiteboy |
2006-09-28 10:15:54 |
Thanks nfagdtrfb. I 've got that. I was hoping for better. The Eaton is from spring memory. I think it was Eaton.
BTW. The Syracuse FOB is FABULOUS. IN your face! I have a little bit more of the crowd after Jack Straw and will try to splice/fade it in some day w/ the taper's def comments. They're funny. |

| I e-mailed Lindenbaum in the spring about his copy and he said he would B&P me. I didn't want to bother him without being able at least give him something good in return for his trouble. If the Hartford show is really that scarse, I can try contacting him again to see if we can get a good copy. I don't know how to upload yet, so I'll have to coordinate with somebody. |

This was my very 1st show and the last time the Dead would play Syracuse. From what I heard, the University was sick of Dead Heads camping out on the campus and would not let the band play there when school was in session. This brings back some great memories.
Remember Black Uhura openeing?
Many many thanks to the tapers and seeders! |

Black Uhuru opened?
We got there in time for the Dead, and didn't even know we missed an opening band! - someone sideswiped us at a yellow light on the way out of Rochester - kinda slowed down our trip to the Dome :(
I remember we stood/danced/swayed/nearly fell off of chairs on the floor - we were packed in there like sardines!
but I'd do it again in a heartbeat - wish my time machine was workin'.... ;)

hey lilrichwhiteboy - I emailed you my address but never got a B&P package from you, just thought you forgot about it.
I could put up a torrent of the 4/17/82 show in a few days, if you don't mind the wait. I dont have any of the A>D or D>CD info , so I hope that is OK. |
| lilrichwhiteboy |

Thanks Mark. I was going to send you the 12.20 JGB and 12.20.75 K&D w/ Scarlet Begonias as trade, but misplaced it in all my non-crossreferenced disks, I have been mindlessly gathering the last three years. I got sick of downloading the same show two and three times and finally put a list together. Necessity forced me. For this kind of archiving insanity, crossreferencing with four and five shows on one DVD is manditory now.
I found the K&D w/ the referencing, but have misplaced one of my two Jerry disks. And of course, I figured the odds you already had it was better than 50-50% anyway. But, all the downloading these days is almost bewildering, there's so much to keep up with.
I've been staring at your addy for months. Believe me, I really would love to hear a good FOB of that UJB>NFA. I thought yours or Eaton's might pop up sooner or later. Sooner is always better. BTW, if you don't have it, the 10.31.75 "Let It Rock" opener is absolutely killer. Best I've ever heard, though the Aud is just so-so. |
| mlinden |
2006-10-01 03:38:57 |
| LRWB - you should have sent the B&P anyway, if I did not want to do it I would have not sent you my addy, nevermind, I'll torrent the show next week. BTW the taper for this FOB is Barry Glassberg, Nak 700's>D5. |

| Thanks again Mark. I know, I know. But I'm starting to feel guilty about all this fabulous free music. I've been taking sooo much lately, I just thought I'd at least try to give back a little. Hopefully, now that Marmar at LosslessLegs has directed me to a really good soundcard for A/D conversion, I can start uploading a few thing of my own that are really special. I appreciate that B&P offer. I'm glad you can upload for everybody now. It's a great, must-have second set. |
