Notes:
- The show was basically all acoustic. Add to that - the dynamics in Ani's music fluctuate pretty dramatically
(very soft singing to loud strumming and singing). As a result, the crowd (cheering, clapping, etc) was far louder than
the music coming from the PA most of the time. So to compensate and smooth things out, I lightly edited the show by
reducing the volume of the crowd between songs (particularly the cheering immediately after a song was done), usually by 50%.
It's not by any means perfect, and some awkward volume fluctuations can be heard a few times. But the volume discrepency
between music and crowd was just too much not to do this. I did not, however, edit anything during a song. So the music
is left untouched.
- A mid-sized venue like The Pageant like this is sort of awkward to hold an all-acoustic show. The volume is just not loud
enough and its hard to get 2000 people to shut up and listen for any length of time. So there is inevitably more crowd
in the recording than is ideal.
- I'm not an Ani fan (I recorded it for my fiance) so I can't really comment on the performance of any individual song.
But the most beautiful parts of the concert were when Ani sang softly/tenderly and the whole theater was dead quiet listening
intently. Very touching. I'd go see her again. Ani fans - I hope you enjoy this!

Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

| Thanks for taping and seeding this. Like you, I'm not a fan. Not the opposite either, she's just never been on the radar screen... I've never downloaded one of her shows before... Used to hear an occassional song about 10-11 years ago, but really am unfamiliar with her work... So thanks for giving me the chance to check out something new today, I appreciate it. |

| whats the quality like? Ani on here is nice to see, which I thank you for. F*ing Napolean is a great tune, Fire door is good, and pretty much all of set 2 looks like the stuff I really enjoy hearing. I have a few shows of her's around here somewhere but I am always disappointed with the quality of the recording. |

I think the quality is pretty good, not the best but pretty close. The mics are very good and sounds like it was recorded from a decent enough spot in the hall.
The audience at her shows are so frigging nuts they screetch at the slightest provocation though. The crowd reduction that was applied is a god send and makes this much more listenable, although you still have to deal with the yelping that happens during the songs themselves.
Thanks to the taper and his sweetheart! |

| i agree, the crowd discourages me from seeing her live. i find it comically ironic how she sings about political feminism and anti-celebrity and then her fans worship and idolize her. thank you for the recording, and i highly suggest you all buy her new album. |

| The quality is as good as it can be with the issues I wrote about above in the description (loud crowd, low PA volume, scrunched in a large crowd on the floor, etc.). I had a spot near the the right stacks and the DPA mics always produce a good recording. So it's good, and I think Ani fans will enjoy it, but no where near a fantastic recording. |

Thanks a lot, potsy. Any Ani is appreciated. She's a phenomenon who grows on you. I hope your girl drags you to a few more shows.
Cheers! |
