Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

fairly certain this is the show that is also available in video format, i had a vhs copy back in 1998. it was filmed as part of the rockpalast series on german tv, and the pre/post show interviews are fucking priceless. if memory serves, they interview some fans that are touring europe, and the remarks range from cohesive and pointed to spun out and ridiculous.
it always made my day to see trey and mike dance, and methinks they chose these particular songs (guelah, cavern) to show off their moves to all the hot german (boys? girls? you decide). |

| Sick...Thanks for the link. I wonder how awesome it would be if someone tried to sink up the AUD with the show for DVD audio purposes? I sure would like to know if someone decided to "remaster" this:) |

Hrmm, I recall the German TV broadcast being about 60 minutes, ie, not the entire show. Interesting. Based on that hour (if I am indeed correct, and it is the same performance) I thought the show was kinda lackluster, including a Tweezer that didn't do anything. Which makes me recommend getting this as video rather than audio.
But it includes one of the dozen or so Crosseyeds they ever played, and a version that is seldom heard. (The next one would be in the US that Summer and then it wouldn't appear until Big Cypress). That makes it worthwhile to the collector alone, outside of the general rule of thumb that you should get everything from 1997, especially given that setlists can be particularly misleading in shows of that year. (Invariably better than they look, that is.)

this whole show is lackluster, if my memory serves. a good way to describe most of the bigger guns, "don't do anything."
just not the kind of energy and direction that some of the later europe shows exhibit. in the video, the band looks fairly haggard and road-weary, or maybe too much warsteiner. whatever. i remember getting the video and being disappointed. don't remember the cross-eyed, but it's hard to find anything penned by byrne that doesn't work every time! |
