Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

This is one of my favorite 74 shows. The second set is so wonderful, esp the very psychedelic DS into China Doll. Mmmm...

Great show indeed.
Has anybody seen the clips of the kids from the Paul Green School of Rock playing Dead stuff? It's worth a look. Here's a link:

"Is this the one where Playin' is 45 minutes long?"
No, I think you are looking for 5-21-74.

| 5-21-74 Seattle, Hec Edmundsen Pavilion, University of Washignton (my alma mater) is definitely the 45 minute Playin'. For a long time, the only part that circulated (analog days) was a pretty crappy audience of the Playin'. |

| Hometown show. The only one. Too bad it was 5 years before I was born. Oh well, thanks for sharing. I only had an mp3 copy of this fantastic show. One of my favorite 74's even disconsidering my geographical bias. |

| This is a fantastic recording. 1st set is extremely tight (god I love early scarlets...they sound so excited to play it). The Playing is a definite keeper (even with the gawdawful Donna screetching at the very end). Row Jimmy is gorgeous. |

this is a great show - and I agree about the early Scarlets - they were so fun and funky!
for a show with everything the '74 Dead had to offer, everyone should check out the recent Cow Palace 3-23-74 torrent (click the convenient link below!)
I can't believe only 250 folks have grabbed this amazing Cow Palace recording, which featured the first Scarlet and the first Cassidy:
http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=501188
it's way more fun to listen to than Dick's Picks 24 - it's the best pre-retirement audience recording I've ever heard - yes, it's even better than 8-6-71, the show commonly regarded as the best audience ever...
get it folks - and crank it up - you won't be sorry!!

ahhh yay!!! I love Spring 74. To me, this seems like the most underground Dead era, in that its never mentioned, seeded, talked about... anything. I never knew they even played in the Spring until i checked out Deadbase one time just for the heck of it. I like it because its got the 74 vibe, but without all the dissonant spacey stuff that they got infested with during the Fall/Europe tour.
but for some reason, this is only going at like 4kbs for me, when ive got up to 400kbs capability??? I dont get it. Also, 11/4/79 just crapped out on me too, so if someone could hop on that, that would be excedingly super mad awesome. Help me get off my Phish kick and back on Dead!!! haha
thank you to everyone |

| You think October is dissonant? I think it's the prettiest, most melodic month. Of course, June is the richest... |
