Important news from bt.etree.org!

Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.

If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.

Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.

This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.

For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.

Thanks, and happy downloading.

This was the worst Squirming Coil i ever did see. First set is great though! Thanks for seeding!
OctopusRider 2006-11-17 12:29:01

It's funny how different our opinions are in loving the same band. This was My favorite creek show out of a dozen other than 8/3/98 obviously. I would MAYBE call all five shows from 99 & 00 stagnant, but none before that point. great versions of some serious staple songs like Makisupa>Maze, Guyute(which was rare at the time) Antelope & YEM. Hands down my favorite Timber which is one of the best covers IMO. I'd do anything to have a source that isn't missing the begining(I LOVE THE WAY IT STARTS). Obviously my enthusiastic love for this show has to do with where I was in My life as well - one of those perfect moments! Still I'd never expect to hear it referred to in a weak mannor.
97phunkaddict 2006-11-17 14:22:27
I'll also say that this is the best Guelah Papyrus I'VE heard! ThumpinGordon!
literacyofdance 2006-11-17 15:22:54
i spose i would have to give it another listen...guelah being one of my favorite tunes, tho it would have to step hard to come up against the rupp arena guelah in '96 (stop/start before stop/start was de rigeur)!

all subjectivity aside, i mean too-concious of next door neighbor in my space, not getting off on drugs before you knew you never needed them, etc, this show is SO overshadowed by the other night of the run. it's really unfair to what might be an otherwise good two sets of music. i was inside the pavillion and that space was usually charged with magic. just didnt feel it this time. the previous night was full of fire and sweat and brimstoney.

it you're in the mood, tho, give kuroda's birthday show from 99 a listen, it was just up here, energy abounds. ditto for the 2000 show with the chalkdust reprise. swamp thing up from the water to shake mud in your face!

thanks for your comments!

I was at both nights of creek in 97 and agree that this was the worst show of the bit of tour i saw (8/10 -> the went). THAT being said.... It is still 97 FUNK and the Timber, Piper, Vultures section is well worth the download alone. The Guelah, Limb combo is also on point as someone said and the antelope is ok, but its almost a tease compared to the biggityBOMB that flowed at creek in 96. esp 8/12 I and of course both sets of the legendary 8/13. While im rambling, I still cant believe how many peeps skipped Darien in 97 after Star Lake. I guess the funk was just too deep.

Hey, hold on.....I was at this one (night before too)!! What a sweet scene and venue with great campgrounds really close by with everyone sharin' in the groove. No one jumped the lawn fences during this one as I remember but who cares, long live The Phish!!!

personally i enjoyed every single deer creek show i saw, and i saw all of them but the one in '95. even though this is in my less enjoyed ones prehiatus there its still a really good show for individual songs. and the night before overshadowed this one. and being typical to pick out the best night of a venue stand this one is often forgotten. but in comparison to some other not best of the stand shows at deer creek pre hiatus (8/12/96, 8/2/98, 7/26/99, 7/10 and 7/12/00) it does hold up. but if you are looking for the cream of the deer creek crop go for the best of the stand ones, they are all highly recommended.

as for post hiatus deer creek its hard for me to choose the best of the run. really enjoyed the '04 shows, the '03 shows not as much.
97phunkaddict 2006-11-18 22:25:36
After 96, 97 & 98 being absolutely magic, the creek seemed to become too popular IMO. maybe it was the on site campgrounds bringing more people and making it more of a festival vibe instead of the intimate middle of nowhere in a cornfield vibe. That was also around the time when I stopped going early to party cause the scene got pretty ugly.

Augustus, let me guess, You will up all those shows in the next day or so right! Undermind, if were wondering you need to join week4paug.net and request shows there (one at a time) if you want anyone to fill them.
