Important news from bt.etree.org!

Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.

If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.

Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.

This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.

For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.

Thanks, and happy downloading.

I thought I'd throw my source up since no other sources have popped up yet. This is no where near the quality of St louis or Indianapolis recordings I seeded, but the eagles club is a really awful room to tape in compared to the rooms in STL and indaianapolis. If you are just grabbing a show to check these guys out I recommend grabbing either of those two shows.

you weren't runnin' 4 mics in milwaukee?
JazzPhreak66 2006-12-18 19:04:37
yes I was, but I wasn't happy with my ADK-TL source. The AKGs sounded better by themselves.

normally mmw gets pretty good sound in this room, but i guess the odds were they'd fall short eventually. it is the WORST-sounding venue in the midwest, and it sucked on this night. thanks for the recording, though! it's a brave man (or woman) who risks wasting tape to record at the rave.

I am posting my 24-bit source of this here: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=502667

I haven't heard this so I don't know how it compares. My mics were clamped onto the same stand.

Thank you! I have about 10 people I promised that I would get a copy to. Thank you so much.

For what its worth, although the venue was listed as the Eagles Club, technically the show was held at The Rave. Also, I know the first few times I saw MMW there it really didn't sound good (as it doesn't for most bands). That said, the last few times, I thought that soundman Dave Kent did a great job at getting the best sound possible out of the room...and I thought the MSMW show was no exception to that. I just figured I'd give some credit to him, 'cause as we all know, the venue sucks in just about every way imaginable. Ya know, I've held this theory for a while...but Milwaukee mafia figures own the Rave - basically they own it through a series of dummy corporations that change on a regular basis. Anyways, I can't see how that doesn't have something to do with the Rave/Eagles' stranglehold on the Milwaukee music market. Seriously...there is the Pabst Theatre (saw sco there once...fucking great), the Riverside, and the Modjeska (over on the South side...saw primus there once...). Particularly since bands KNOW what the Rave/Eagles sounds like, it is peculiar that, even after playing at the better venues, that they continually come back to the shit-hole that is the Eagles/Rave.

Anyways, I'm rambling here...

Ryan

PS- thanks for the recording!!
