Important news from bt.etree.org!

Here's a little holiday joy...
These two guys (Sonny and Bobby) are second only to Big Mon himself, in my book of bluegrass history. I know there's Earl, Lester, Carter and Ralph, but Sonny and Bobby have such a voluminous body of work that is filled with jewels. |

btw...this is one of the four DAT masters I have of these guys, the others dozen or so are on cassette. The sony sbm-1 seems to warm the sound up nicely. this was the first fest they switched from Jerry Williamson to Southern Audio for sound and went from old tyme mono to modern stereo. The old tyme sound was nice and crisp, punchy bass. These recordings are rich and warm, very full.

| cool to see this show. I went to this festival with some friends & it was 98% old folks in lawn chairs. Some would come up to some of my friends "dancing" and taking pictures of them like they were monkeys in a zoo, sort of like the early days at the Merlefest. |
