Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

thanks for the torrent, but one question for you.
If I grabbed a version of this show in SBD from a download about three years ago, is this an upgrade of that source in any way or is the same SBD that's been circulating for years?
Reason I ask is that souce was fairly muddy sounding and wanted to know if this one is clearer/better?
Thanks for whatever info you have. |

^^ I would go ahead and give this one a shot - muddiness is not an issue on this recording. There are a couple of dropouts here and there, and Jerry's voice is extremely hoarse, but overall I think it is a great recording.
There is another source circulating for this show, from the MSR, but I have not heard it. I believe this show has only been posted here at etree twice in the past, both of which were in mid and late 2005.

cool, thanks for the response. I will be giving this one a shot. I think I may have downloaded the prior version from an FTP site but not sure.
Thanks. |

I've had this source for a while now (gotta be at least 3 years), and muddiness is certainly not an issue with it - in that regard it's notably better than the circulating MSR source. However, I find it a bit hissy. I'm listening to Let Me Roll It right now, and there's a constant sssssssssssss in the background, so if hiss bothers you, you might want to pass.
Of course, this is an absolutely killer show, so taking a pass seems criminal. |

| I just listened to disc one again for the first time in a while and I was mistaken about the quality. It wasn't muddy at all, but hissy, as pointed out above. It is a killer Jerry Band show though, that's for sure. He sings his heart (and throat) out on A Simple Twist of Fate! |

hseamons - I'd suggest you buy the official Pure Jerry release of the next night (featuring another sweet Palm Sunday encore with Jerry, Donna and Maria Muldaur blending their voices perfectly), and then download the 6-16-82 Music Mountain show, which I believe is still available on GDLive.com..
welcome to JerryWorld! :)

^^ Good recommendation - but I think you mean 3/18/78 not 3/20/78.
I recently received the Kean College '80 show for Christmas and can't get it out of the stereo! Available wherever quality box sets are sold! :) |

John Kahn (Bass)
Keith Godchaux (Keyboards)
Donna Godchaux (Vocals)
Maria Muldaur (Vocals)
Buzz Buchanan (Drums)
This, and all sorts of other excellent JGB minutiae, can be found here: www.thejerrysite.com
Highly recommended for those just getting into the JGB.
