Important news from bt.etree.org!

Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.

If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.

Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.

This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.

For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.

Thanks, and happy downloading.

Here's a nice contribution from Ray and Jake, thanks guys! This is one the top five shows from 1988 (imo). Super clear recording, especially guitars and vocals... Enjoy!
macdoogle 2007-01-11 21:40:33
there is some serious thickness to sound of this show!
FarFromMe 2007-01-11 22:26:11
Thanks to upstate taping legend Ray Ackerman and another phenomenal taper in his own right Andrew Faintych for his time and effort! Big Brent show! JF
zebweber 2007-01-11 22:48:43
does anyone know if Rochester taper Jamie Herbst taped this show? maybe he plugged into one of you guys?

my 2nd gen cassette of set 2 was torrented on Lossless Legs recently, but I'm unsure of it's lineage (other than it was purported to be a 'Jamie' tape)

I'll be curious to give this one a spin, and compare it to what I believe to be a great sounding recording - I won't be surprised at all if they turn out to be from the same source ;)

thanks for this great show!

Zeb
Pot Worm 2007-01-11 23:18:19
I've always loved this set 2. Lots of energy. I only have the SBD, so this will be a nice change of pace. Thank you.
caravan2001 2007-01-12 00:22:39
Thanks for this. Haven't heard it since the show. I was a big fan of Green Onions from the Quadrophenia soundtrack/movie, so I couldn't believe it when they played it. Thanks....Also, where is a good place to request GD shows to be seeded here? I know week4paug.net is the place for phish, is there a place where I can submit my gd grovels? Thanks....
terrapincane 2007-01-12 12:06:48
everything Pot Worm said :)

very cool 2nd set!
Freeborn_Man 2007-01-12 15:22:40
I was there to witness Jerry pouring his soul out on "Believe It Or Not" and the sunset over the lake...yeah that was back when the taper section still sprawled out on the front sides of the sbd, before htey moved us to the back/upstairs of venues.

Thankyou!
Albix 2007-01-12 15:58:41
What a memorable day this was. Thanks Ray, Andrew and Jake!
walstib 2007-01-12 17:02:37
cool.
i'm anxious to check this out. the schoeps source on archive is one of my "reference" discs.
Love the intro to Minglewood. PHIL!!!

zebweber 2007-01-12 17:03:08
c'mon, freeborn... "and the sunset over the lake"

Silver Stadium wasn't near the lake! How about the sunset over the Genesee River?!?

loved the topical t-shirt I saw on Norton Street in front of the stadium either in '87 or '88 that read Genesee Ted!

sure wish I knew all you taper guys back then - only tapers I knew were Rochester guys - Big Jon, Mad Crow and Jamie Herbst...they were all set up near the pitcher's mound, the de facto taper's section that night...

garciaweir 2007-01-12 19:57:56
Super show. 2 things about this show
1) Jerry wore a sport jacket through out the show and the head in front of me kept wailing " i cant
beleive Jerry's wearing a suit!!!!"
2) only Green Onions
it was as everyone has said here b4 me a great day
one off the real special ones.
garciaweir 2007-01-12 20:00:52
potworm any chance of seeding the sbd???
thanks
zebweber 2007-01-12 23:06:05
this new FOB is different than the one I have - it's much more shotgun-sounding, and it doesn't have the guy yell out "who got the mushrooms?" just before Space...

this show is so good, one more version of it can't be a bad thing to have!

thanks - Zeb
astro99 2007-01-17 20:58:46
Awesome ...this was my first show and I was completely on the bus after having my face melted during the intro into The Other One out of Space. I also have the FOB Schoeps and the SBD. But a show this special deserves a listen from every perspective (at least to me)
purdz 2007-08-29 14:16:32
I know I'm late on this one. Would anybody be able to seed this? Thanks, Shawn
