|Description||I have cobbled together the common aud source (electric set) with the newly circulating Taback/Minches source (acoustic set) that was torrented here last week. The original taper(s) paused the tape between most songs during the acoustic set and some of the electric set. I have crossfaded the tracks together to smooth the cuts and provide a generally more pleasant listening experience. No music was lost (and no further tinkering was attempted), although I have removed some crowd and a wee bit o' tuning to tighten things up and facilitate a two disc set without having to split the China/Rider. To accomplish this, I decoded the original sources with xACT, lightly edited several tracks in Peak LE 5.2, and did the crossfades in Jam 5. Encoding to FLAC was done with Toast 7.1.2, compression level 6, md5's, shntool check and sbe check performed with xACT. Thanks to all the recordists, tapers, traders, torrentors and community members for their generosity and good vibes.|

This is a very fine recording, especially of the acoustic set and includes 4 songs that aren't in circulation. The tape deck was paused in between songs causing a "whooshing" sound which I partially edited out. The first few notes of many of the songs are missing due to the pausing but do not allow that to take away from the excellence of the recording. There are other anomalies and cuts, some of which I had not listed.

|Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading.
|This was a good idea, but how did you manage to fit it on two discs? That Love Light's gotta be over a half hour.
I fit the first three tunes from the electric set on the first disc and then I excised what amounted to a couple of minutes of crowd noise on the second. Between that and the crossfades, I was able to squeeze disc 2 down to 79:58.
|Thank you very much :)
|The speed on the acoustic set is very fast (about 2.4%), but even correcting that the show should still fit on 2 discs
|Amazing, you guys did a great job. I attempted the same thing, but had to split the China Rider in half.
I trust there was nothing especially whimsical or baudy in the audience chatter you had to excise?

Nope. Not to my ears.
But, after Sugar Magnolia fades out (Cotsman seed, d2t4 04:19~04:27), there was a fade-in with some tuning and a guitar chord that was spliced after eight seconds to the crowd noise at the beginning of Good Lovin'. Regrettably, I removed it. But I justified it because it was only eight seconds long and seemingly unrelated to what came before or after it.
