Jazz & Heritage Festival
Fairgrounds Race Course
New Orleans, LA.

*****SBD REMASTER*****
~Note: This doesn't sound like wsp's main board. This was either done
thru wsp's onstage monitor sbd or through the festival board. I have remixed this to sound as close to the other '97 sbds as possible, in
any case an upgrade.

Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

My favorite Panic era. I first saw Widespread Panic at the Club Soda in Montreal in september 1997. I didn't know any songs but i had found out on a website that they played New Speedway Boogie by the Grateful Dead. Good enough for me!
Got there with a few friends, got a ticket for free from a kind stranger, got in and they just blew me away. If you were there, you know it was a magical night. The magic comes through the tape...
Second set, got in front of Schools, like 5 feet and got rocked! I knew i had found a source of musical satisfaction for years to come! I had made plans to tour Europe with a friend following Panic from London to Amsterdam when 9/11 came and blew those plans away. I'm still picking up the pieces...
Sorry for the long rant, just excited and my way of saying thank you for sharing this! Get 4/20, 5/7 and 5/10 from that year. Hell, get them all! They are on fire!! |

THe 5-3-97, I think was Oak Mountain in Pelham, AL..without looking. It's one of the best shows of the tour.
Wouldn't surprise me if Mike is working on remastering that one to. To call it a smoker is an understatement.
Thanks Mike!! |

5/3/97 is from Oak Mountain and is just filthy...was listening to it this morning actually.

2: Send Your Mind > Sleeping Man, C. Brown, Sandbox > Just Kissed My Baby > Greta > Chilly Water > Aunt Avis > Drums* > Jam* > Papa Legba*, Conrad
E: West Virginia > Dream Song > Flat Foot Flewzy
RIDICULOUS SHOW |

| I did a remaster the 5/3/97 before I relized that Couch/Medley did a transfer. Medley and I are good Friends, but I can leave that aside and say it's a nicely done transfer. I don't see a reason to put my sbd transfer out there, but I will be working on a matrix of the show at some point. |

thanks for another remaster, mike. good to hear you talk about making some dirty matrices. after all your sbd remastering goodness this past year, that's the only way to up the heat. i 2nd the b'roo request. pleas.
might as well put your 5-3 up, too. i don't think martin is gonna complain that there's 'too much' panic floating around. it took widespread fans waaay too long to wait for multiple sources, anyway. waiting for someone else to decide what constituted the heat just always burnt my balls. |
| mwilker |
2007-01-26 20:17:02 |
I may see If I can bring the 5/3 to life.
BUT the B'roo 02 sbd isn't allowed. If you got the 03 before they jerked it your lucky. Both the public sites I post at made it very clear that they were not allowed. E-tree removed all of the 03 B'roo sbds not just the panic. |
