Disc III: Set II, Part II: (47:52)
2. Think **
4. Chubb Sub
5. Worms ->
6. The Lover
*Chris Wood's electric bass ceased to function after the 2nd tune. We
were treated to the upright for the rest of the gig.
**Billy Martin calls out 'a little mellower on the lights' to help he
and the guys keep eye contact.
Recording quality for the show is top notch. The DAT -> CD transfer
was done in 1997. The show intro was lopped off the front and track
breaks were inserted at what seemed like good spots at the time. The
DATs have since disintegrated.
This show was a standout from the fall tour. ENJOY!

|Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading.
|-- THE SHACK PROJECT --
This is an effort to seed all existing MMW shows, and yes, preserving the original SHN/FLAC filesets. The seeding will proceed chronologically starting with the earliest known circulating fileset.
Thanks to MMW for allowing their music to be recorded....really, thank you.
Huge thanks goes out to the tapers, without whom this wouldn't be possible...and those that have helped get the tunes to our ears.
And thanks to the other 4 guys I've dragged into this and who seem committed to the cause: Louie, Mike Tom & Todd....we're all listening to these shows and hopefully circulating the best versions.
All shows listed here in SHN/FLAC will be seeded:
These shows will be seeded as well, either by me or by one of a few other kind souls:
Shows listed here circulate in some manner. We are looking for as close to the original source as we can get so if you can help out with any of the following, we'd all appreciate it:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwneeds (this list is in the process of being compiled...maybe forever?)
I've started a thread over here for us to be able to discuss this project:
MMW Performance History @ http://twilightsw.com/mmw - this is a fantastic resource that limits you to being able to look at info on gigs by MMW and related side projects and guest appearances; big thanks to Tom for creating this page.
I can be reached here: rshannon AT unb DOT ca
enjoy the grooves,
Louie, Mike, Tom, Todd & dug
|Yet another sweet '96 soundboard!! I removed the small clicks that were near the beginning of each track, so now it sounds very nice. Enjoy... -Tom
|thanks for this!!
|awesome, mmw sbd, thanks alot man
|Thanks! I've been looking for this for a while. My second MMW show. SBD no less. My buddy actually tapes this show...to cassette tape. One of only two tapers at the show. The other guy ran DAT.
Just a big, open, square room and not a lot of people there. Drove down from Rochester for it. It was a must after we saw them in Madison earlier that summer. Stand-up bass the whole show was great!
|this was one of the first live shows I ever own on a CD, pretty sure the one I had(ve) was taped by Geoff Lynch with some AKG C3000s.
|Thank you for posting this!!! I was the promoter of this show... one of my favorite nights ever in college. The Mandela Room held 600 people, and I was freaked b/c we only sold 300 tickets before the show, but we sold out the day of the show. Great memories of this night, and my favorite MMW show.
A few things that I remember:
-John Medeski was using a fender amp that he had bought the day before.
-My friend Marcus showed MMW "The Spirit of Christmas" for the first time on their tour bus. They called us a month later to ask for a copy.
-It snowed. Granted, it was Binghamton, so it would have been more surprising if I said that the sun was out.
|Great show. The "Andy" they call out was my camp counselor and gave me this tape back in the day. Thanks!
|Irrelevant to this particular torrent, but can anyone seed the Turntable Sessions 12/31/05?
|Yo SNOOD! It's Marcus (above mentioned Source). How's it going? Thanks to TWILIGHT for taking out the clicks. Though he'll likely not see it, Thanks to the Stahr man for the patch. Remains one of my favorite shows of our seasons at Bingo. But MAGO is out and I'm heading to the store for it Wednesday.
|Whoa - I only just discovered these guys - truly wicked jammage - trying to pick up a couple from a while ago, hope the remaining seed(s) can hold on. Thanks guys.
|Can some kind soul please re-seed this
|Is there anyone that can reseed this one? Please...
Peace & Music
|I'll try this again : can some kind soul please re-seed this
|Just started a new seed for this here:
... the new torrent will attract more attention.
