Mimiluv - just a question:
Is it possible to suck someone's balls if your lips are on their asshole? Yeah, I thought not. HAHAHAHAHAHA |

What a show. It was terrific. And I am not always easily pleased, as some of you know.
Anyone who didn't like it, well, too bad for you. Next time don't come so we can have just a little more elbow room. The show was created in the tradition of the Christmas Jams. It isn't about just Gov't Mule, but about a range of musical styles and expressions. If that isn't your bag, well stick to what you know. I like when the musicians experiment. I personally loved the Seal song. If you listen to the words, you'll understand why it's being covered. Kevn Kinney, Edwin McCain and Audley Fried are long time friends of Warren's and they go to the Christmas Jam pretty much every year and help to make those jams a fun time. It was great to be able to hear some of their material and nice to see them supporting Warren and the effort to kick off Evil Teen Records. Like I said, either you like music is all it's forms, or you stick solely to what you know. You can do what you want but it isn't polite to sh*t on other people's good time.
Not only was the IP show great but the ABB is kicking this run. If you haven't gotten to see them, try to get to a show. Almost every song is filled with new jams and they have been rocking hard. Oteil on Manic Depression last night was one for the books. See this band before they leave the Beacon if you can. |

bop--hick music is that which hicks like. the term hick is generally in reference to someone of a backwoods sort. other synonyms are rube, hayseed, hillbilly, in some cases redneck, okie, etc. it infers that this person, the hick, possesses a lack of education and mundane exposure, limiting his or her enjoyment of the finer, more cultural things in life (like sucking balls on anybody other than dad, which is quite common for some hicks). in essence, we're talking bluegrass, folk, french-cajun music, and potentially blues. incidentally, mimiluv attacked les claypool in here when primus started their last tour, claiming the show was too short, songs chosen weren't his scene, claypool's mean approach to his fans, etc. i think claypool ended up sucking someone's balls in some of those posts, no doubt. the best selling book of hick wisdom, Thomas Jefferson's "Notes on the State of Virginia," purports that if the scene ain't making it for you, then make the scene...expressing dislike of a show is one thing but a raving diatribe full of senseless profanity and thoughts of tea bags, uh, just uh. if you don't like the music you pay money to hear, save that money, buy a guitar, and perform the most un-ball sucking music we could be blessed to hear. otherwise, shut up.
thanks again for a great sounding show! |

To ALL from the Frickin' East or an Ivy league school who are sucking balls and trying to impress people: What gives here?
I never post for this reason... "It is never about how much you put into your mouth...just what comes out of it!" Shut-up! Big deal...I was with Mule w/ 60 people @ People's in AMES... SO WHAT?

| Thanx! No diatribe here. It is what it is. Enjoy, or choose not to. Even if it was not the flamers favorite show, or the the most sonically stellar jam, it was an interesting mix of artists and styles. Hey, 2 songs from Dave Mason's Alone Together, one of my all-time favorite albums... that was pretty cool. |

Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one and they all stink. If you like ABB/Mule, DL the show and make your own judgement on how "good" the show was.

regarding nyc shows and the people who attend: yeah a lot of city people go and treat a $50 ticket like an invite to a cocktail party = chat, chat, and more chat and pay no attention to the art. but conversely we (citizens of the greatest municipality on the planet) have a lot of musical options on any given night -- every genre imaginable, with tons of very talented unknown musicians... you get the point. so it can take a lot of show to get us riled up about one. from what i experienced here, this one just lacked that ole "ex-chemistry" made famous by the *you-know-who*. which should not be taken to mean that the show sucked/there were no high moments, or i did not have fun. it means that i've heard better, got taken away more, and left feeling high from it.
fwiw, yesterday i bought my first records in a long time = wilco, a ghost is born and beggars banquet both on vinyl. i don't listen to the radio other than for sports-talk and traffic reports neither... the show was still a weak one, like i suggested: benefits are hard to pull off. |

hey bop--shoot me your home email address and, henceforth, i'll forward you a rough draft of anything i'd like to post and you can OK it or not--because this is YOUR etree dude!!! i love this etree comment section: bop can ask a stupidassed question like "what is hick music" (like what, dude, were you locked in a closet your entire childhood, or even worse but similar, are you from a northern city?), i can reply with all sarcasm and irony involved, and somehow, bop gets angry b/c someone gave him a stupid reply to his stupidassed question, the reply to which was actually directed more toward the infamous mimiluv than anyone else...but, oh shucks, that would take a little comprehensive reading skill and obviously...that's missing.
let me get this straight, now, cause i'm getting tired of getting flamed for being a part of this so-called "community"...stupid questions are OK but answers to those said stupid questions are not? please help. and here are two further thoughts for you wigs: let's put a membership fee on the comment section, to keep assholes like me out, OR, and i actually think this will get a better reception, we can rename the "Post a Comment" box to "Post a Thank You" box, since thank yous are really the only thing that seems to be appropriate, albeit in a "Post a Comment" section. not trying to turn this into a semantic pissing contest, but really now? you dudes really need to come up with some sort of criteria to save yourself some stress and allow "the others" to post to your standards...word me up. until then, i'm going to listen to some f-ing hick music.
