Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.

Just so you know phishy12, I don't normally bitch about tapers, but you really left a bad taste in mine and my girl's mouth, that is all. I tried to be upfront with you and your buddy, and then all you did was square us off out of our spot, we had less than our seats to operate in. We appreciate your taping the show, I have never been rude to a taper before, and believe me if you think I am being childish now, you haven't seen anything yet.
I have never ever ever bitched about tapers before, I give you guys much love, and can't even tell you the countless hours of music that I have of yours. Looking back, I probably do have lots of shows from you, I have been with this site and others since, well who know.
I don't want to make enemies on the road, we spend far too much time there. I know other tapers and they are generally very good people. I am sorry that we got off to the wrong foot, but I paid the same green old cash that you did for those wonderful seats in the 5th row right in front of J.B.
I never had any reason to be pissed at you, except for the fact that you and your buddy acted childish to me and my girl. We are 25 and 28, we aren't a bunch of rude assholes. These were our 5th and 6th shows of the tour, and we will be in Orange Beach. We mean nobody harm, and that is all there is to it.
It sucks that we had a tainted experience with you, because I have sat next to tapers before and never had a problem, and I always do them the favor of saying hey if I hoot and hollar a little bit at the band, don't get pissed at me.
I LOVE WIDESPREAD PANIC, and will continue to love them, regardless of anything that happens at a show.

No matter what I say or do about this whole situation, I am going to be wrong, the taper is going to feel right, and everybody else is going to support the taper for the most part.
This really isn't a case of right vs. wrong, because he has just as much a right as I do to be up there.
But here is the real problem.
If you have seats 11 and 12, and we have seats 13 and 14, you should set up between 11 and 12, not between 12 and 13. That is the major problem that I have. Just to be a little closer to center (where my seats are).
I won't say any more, the more I say, the more people will try to fire at me. And I don't want that, I am not some kind of rookie or noob to all of this. |

OK, one more thing, hahaha, I know I said that already, but I am just not in the mood for people to think that I am some kind of rude asshole,
Did I show you any disrespect at the show what so ever. Because I was trying to be respectful of you, that is why we didn't come back to our seats for the second set.
I want to and have to know, because I am after a few hours of sleep and thinking about to hit the download button for your torrent, but if you think I was disrespecting you or anything, I won't. I wouldn't want to disrespect you, and then download your hard work. |

| stand up for yourself dude. tapers get the music out on their own time, which is damn awesome, but we're all still humans who need to respect each other and each other's spaces, especially when we all pay for these tickets to the shows. it's not very fair to jack someone else's seats to tape, in my opinion |

I have reservations even legitimizing this monologe by replying...

You have read peltzer's side.
Here's my side:
I clamped to phishy12. My gear bag is small (744T>v2>4022 stuffed in a mtnsmith cairn) and occupied one seat to the right of the stand. phishy12 occupied the seat to the left of the stand. phishy12 had tix for his seat, and I had permission to place gear bag in the seat I was in. Neither bag occupied peltzer's ticketed seats. I had no intentions of occupying that space with my body as I planned to set up, set levels, and move on to make space. So, all lights were green so far.
I made aquaintance with my neighbors to the right of me. All were super accomodating, voiced no ill will and were infact, overly encouraging of my/our presence. (I am so often blown away by the good vibes that I get from the Panic fans. I tape other bands as well and never get this kind of reception. Thank you panic fans). Anyhoo, I digress...
Now, all is well, people on right are good, I am set up with minimal footprint, and here comes peltzer who opens with (I paraphraze) "dood, you may not know this, but I am the guy that people complain about ruining their tapes. You might have read some stuff on the Internet about me. Is it gonna be a problem if I yell and holler and stuff?.... Because I'm probably gonna ruin your tape."
Yes, I sort of looked at him with a dumbfounded gaze, and thought to myself that my tape would have all sorts of chatter, and who really gives a fu_k since there was 50k plus worth of gear a few rows back. I really aint that concerned if I go down, or pull a bad one... there will be other sources. It's a recording off a pa for pete's sake.
I mean dude comes straight out and tells me he's gonna ruin my tape so as I'm running this all in my head, he says again "are we gonna have a problem? and I say "no way man, I'm not tryin' to be a di_k or mess up anyone's party." Just after that exchange, phisy12 returns and I school him on the interaction. It seemed to me that phishy12 and peltzer spoke and ironed out any leftover wrinkles.
After level setting during first song, I booked it to my seat. I had a front row, center seat and occupied that space for 90% of the time. I reentered the gear space only to offer phishy12 bathroom breaks and to run for food/drink for him. Since I only entered the row from School's side, I can only speak for the crowd in that half. There were at least 3 open seats immediately to the right of the stand on each of my visits.
Make of it what you will, and thanks for not kicking the shit out of my rig as was suggested |

You might be a little paranoid, because I never said that I am the type of guy that ruins tapes. You might need to check yourself man. I said some of my hootin and hollerin "Jimmy you are an animal" might sound like I am trying to get on your recording.
But you are correct there are always three sides of the story, and no matter what I say or do, the taper is always going to be respected by the community.
Did I ruin your tape?
Did I talk on my cell phone?
Did I kick your rig?
Did I do anything at all except play the air guitar?
Did you any of my space?
Thanks for your recordings, believe me, we will appreciate every single last bit of them. If you will be in Orange Beach, then maybe I'll see you there, I might even by ya a beer, but I wouldn't bank on it. HAHAHA
All you fockers going to Athens better get some tight shows, because Panic is going to throwdown on the beach this weeekend.

You know what, the more I think about it, the more and more I realize that we did nothing but show you the utmost respect, my girl being much more petite than I stood next to the rig for the second half of the set. And then didn't even go back to our seats for the second.
I might have approached you in an odd way at the beginning of the show, but sue me, I was drunk at a Panic show.
As far as I am concerned we are done, and I hope that if we meet again, perhaps this will all be in our pasts. I had to say my piece and I did, if things got lost in translation, than they did, I don't have to explain myself, but I feel that every side of the story is important.
It is time to get back to real life for the next four days, all I can think about is Orange Beach, it is going to be HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT |

| Would like to change the subject...I've got no problem with Jimmy, but why is so loud all of the time. I've been seeing and listening to panic for a long time and I don't ever remember having Mikey so loud all of the time. Jimmy really seems to drown out the other members. Just thought I throw it out there and it's just my opinion. Please people don't be rude...just making a comparison to the good old days. Actually ran into a kid this weekend who didn't even know who Mikey was...lol. Thanks for the hard work! |

listen peltzer, apparently you were too drunk to even know where your real seats were supposed to be. i had my stand set up right in the middle of seat 11 and 12, neither of which were your seats. i got to the show at 5 p.m. and could clearly see the numbers on the seats since i was one of the only ones in the place. the 2 gear bags were sitting in seats 11 and 12. i was standing in front of seat 12 beside you because dublab had briefed me on what you said about you being known to hoot and hollar and ruin tapes. i figured at least you wouldn't be directly under the mics if i stood in front of seat 12 instead of 11. you even made the same comment to me about you might yell a few times during the show and i said that was fine, and asked if you would just try to direct it away from the mics instead of right into them. into the first set, you asked me if i could move over some and i said as long as you would be cautious of the stand i would move to the other side of it to seat 11, which i did and let you have my seat to stand in front of. what more do you want from me?????
as we can all see though, someone that has to write comment after comment defending their actions even when no one else is responding, must be the one who is in the wrong................if you want to keep bitching thoough, go over to phantasy panic and start a new thread about how tapers are assholes, but please stop doing it in my post.
on a lighter note...........had a great time hanging out with you again john!! thanks for the extra juice for the 744 and the cookie as well ;-> |
