Important news from bt.etree.org!

Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.

If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.

Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.

This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.

For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.

Thanks, and happy downloading.

just a reminder: i will be seeding the whole thing, complete, over at lossless legs when im done here. (and im pretty sure the set will fit on one data dvd)

if its ok, id prefer noone create a db link for these comps. i plan on doing one link for the complete set when im done. im trying to cut down on mark goldeys workload here, he had to sort thru all the jerry ballads set to get them in the right place, and i dont want him to have to do it again...

i hope yall enjoy weir fans, 7 more to go...

not that this is something i'd download and listen to, but it looks like you did a bit of work and thanks for sharing.

Why a Dire Wolf on a Rock-a-bye Bobby comp ? Just curious.

I have to weigh in here...first off a huge shout out to Chris Davis for yeomans work puttin this together....I helped him out with alot of the scrappy early eighties stuff but Chris carried the load for the other decades and deserves huge props...what has happened to all the gratitude..bunch of spoiled little whiners on this page......get over yourselves, download the comp and sit in your titty whities and play air guitar with bobby
As for bobby the player when I first started listening to the grateful dead i could not figure out where he fit in, I could not hear him although I loved his ballads. Than when it became evident that I was obsessed with the early eighties junkie jerry years I started to hear bobby's rhythm work like I have never heard before.....
'79- learning from Lowell....forget the slide but he and brent traded losts of good licks with brent on songs like black peter and estimated jams..
'80- more tepid but bobby fared very well at Radio City and Warfield...
'81- pure rock star bobby.....he started to believe in himself and found funky harmony on many shakedowns 3/28, 5/12, 8/28, etc....he was jovial and seemed at ease with all the band members including a competant and semi-coherent garcia.....
'82- meaty year for bobby some of his slide solos on rooster and cc rider were actually listenable.....he also would dally on stage on play these real nice African or middle eastern themes with the drummers....Starlight '82....is a good example
'83- the year of bobby.....the year of bobby, drug free, in tremendous shape, active all over the stage, strong vocals, great work with bobby and the knights.....greek '83 huge run for bobby, the space segments from red rocks where he and jerry are trading beutiful licks....."raining fish in Santa Fe....just on fire the whole year. His playing had a deftness and whammy tone that just was the cats craddle.....check the intro to esau from seattle.....
'84- Bobby is god year bobby is god year, Jerry in a fog, phil sometimes there sometimes not...brent at the top of his game....Indy '84 mabye the greatest bobby show of all time....he fills on Straw, he mingles on wood, the beutiful guitar work when jerry would leave the stage on dont need love Cal PO!
...as Albix mentioned earlier....if you take bobby out of the dead you have no "dead sound." Please see Sugaree from 12/28/79 as ample proof....we know Jerry was Joe Montana but bobby was definitley his roger craig.....I know Im not putting him up there with jerry rice- that would be phils role.....peace out, JF
