Its funny listening to this right now. I was working at Summer Camp this year, 2nd year, and I told my boss that the one show I did not want to miss was Les Claypool. He said "no problem as long as there are no emergencies". I thought cool I'm set for Les but low and behold mother nature almost screwed it up. We got hit with the news about a massive storm coming our way and it was time to circle the wagons. All the heads were called into a special meeting at the Red Barn and given instructions concerning the threat level. We were at a level 2 out of 5 which is to say a warning and time to alert the troops. It was literally 10 mins before Les went on that they decided to go on with the show. Les took the stage and started great and stayed that way until the end. I got to watch the show from stage left and totally loved it!
Summer Camp rules and you should come out and enjoy it too!
PS
His tour manager was kind enough to get me a copy of the set list. Les did a funny little cartoon of himself looking into a mirror and saying "Dad?!" The stage manager, Kevin Lynch, told me later that it was something to hold onto since the tour manager always keeps the originals due to the cartoons Les does on all of them and they only make 6-10 copies of the set lists and they try to take all of them with them when they leave.
Cool show!~ |
