Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

| I re-upped this becuase it was getting spammed to the max. If you already have this, you will be able to seed it if you make the small changes to the .doc text file...and delete the other Word files that were incomplete. Let me know if you're having any problems. Cheers |

| As someone who has tired of downloading DMB shows only to find that they are relatively the same shows played over and over again, yet is still a huge Dave fan, I would like to thank you for reseeding this compilation - now I have all the DMB I could ask for! |

| Oh, and you can put this on an IPod in non-lossy format by converting it to AAC, something which any Mac user can do extremely easily - I love listening to near-lossless audio on my IPod! Why don't more people use AAC compression instead of FLAC? It goes right onto IPods and it is just as versatile... and better (of course, everything Apple is better). |

| Oh, but one caveat about AAC - though it does give you the ability to put crisp, clear, near-lossless recordings on your IPod, it does not meet etree standards due to its algorithm. I forgot that I already had this conversation with someone. |

| Thanks for the incredible effort put into this! Any chance you have more from 6/9/96 at Jones Beach? I can't seem to find that show anywhere. |

I will never understand why someone would care that I take these lossless files & back them up to DVD. I then take the original lossless files & convert them to .wav & burn the .wav files to CD. I then convert the .wav files to mp3, AAC or any other audio format and put them on my iPod. How does doing this affect the quality of the original files? It doesn't - right? So I have the original lossless files stored on a data DVD, lossless .wav files on CD & lossy mp3, AAC, etc. files for my iPod. So long as I only use the lossy files on my iPod and don't circulate them, where is the problem??
And yes, an iPod can be very convenient - for a LOT of people, apparently. I use mine everyday on public transportation, when I go camping and in lots of other situations where lossless vs. lossy really doesn't matter much. On my home stereo? The CDs, of course. But on the subway at 6:30 AM? Believe me, the iPod fills the void, lossy and all, just fine.
Many Thanks for this amazing compilation! It was, obviously, a lot of work and it's very much appreciated!!! |

Damon,
You're exactly right. You know that saying don't turn to .mp3 is just an easy way to say it for the noobs. Anyway, i'm having some connection problems now, but i should be upping real fast soon. |

THIS TORRENT NEEDS TO BE PULLED AND STARTED OVER.
WHOEVER IS SEEDING NEEDS TO DELETE THEIR ORIGINAL .torrent AND DOWNLOAD THE NEW .torrent FROM ETREE and that should clear up the issues we're having. There are people that have been connected for four hours and they're only pulling in 4 MB which is rediculously slow. It shows that one person is trying to seed 8 different times so not only is it not working because you didn't destroy the original .torrent and re-download it, but now our computers are confused because they don't know which version of the seed to download from. That happend to me the first time I tried to seed a show, but now I know better. |

| If you click on the "seeds" category it shows the same seeder over and over again. There's no need for that and it's slowing us down. Try to delete some of those seeding sources. |

| The 'no .mp3" restriction is contrary to etree policy and totally stupid, anyway. I removed it last time this was seeded. |

| Okay, so I'm sorry about saying this needs to be pulled. I guess that's not the case. I did notice the original seeder pulled all but one seed and now it seems to be working like it should. This is a massive file set so I guess it's just going to take some time. It will all be worth it when we finally get to hear it though. |
