Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

| first off, i want to clarify that i am NOT complaining. i am just very curious as to why people would want two sbds of the same show. seriously, i'm just wondering. |

"why people would want two or more sbd's of the same show?"
Many reasons...a few are-
1. Many of the new sbd's are remasters of older sbd's. It is important to have the original source for others that may want to remaster it also.
2. One mans, not so good sbd, is another mans great patch.
3. The people who make matrix's for us, may need one sbd over another.
4. And speaking for myself. I have allot of 3D friends that know that I have it all and they can have what they need when they need it.

"why people would want two (or more) sbd's of the same show?"
I added the "or more" to your quote.:)

On the flip side of the coin, sometimes we leave out sources. Example, cm adds a patch and changes nothing else. I will not seed his older source. We had that happen on gd71 already.
I hope this all helped you. |

thanks, and yeah it did. i figured it had to do with a completionist (if that wasn't a word before, it is now dammit) kind of thing.
thank you all that do this stuff. i'm not illiterate with a computer by any means, but the work you all do with these torrents is way beyond my capabilities/patience tolerance. i'm glad you're out there, cause if it was up to me to get something like this going, it would continue to be a "wouldn't it be really sweet if you could share shows online with one another" conversation forever.
don't know if that made sense, but thanks again. |

Quick ?:
Was looking through the schedule for the '71 project and noticed the absence of 4/26/71.
Is there an official release or other reason that this show will not be seeded? Sorry for the ignorance, but I'm sure there's some sort of rule here. |

You have about 50 tracks that are part of official releases between 4-25 and 4-29....I felt it was best to be safe and pull it all...except the one aud we have.....sorry, but i don't want to do anything to mess up the big picture....

I get it why you don't want to post any of the commercially-released tracks from the "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Grateful Dead" boxed set. But... there is one track "Okie from Muskogie" that is not on the boxed set, and was the *only* time they played that song. In addition to wanting to hear it myself, I have a friend (a Hank Williams fan) that has been telling me for about a year that the Dead *must* have played it sometime. Well, now that I know they did... I'm looking hard for it.
If anybody has it, I'll trade whatever for a copy. Shoot, I'll send you my (slightly used) copy of "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Grateful Dead" boxed set for that one track. At least I can always *buy* another copy of that !!!
