Important news from bt.etree.org!

Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.

If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.

Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.

This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.

For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.

Thanks, and happy downloading.

I'll help you seed for a bit, since I got this on that other tracker.

Glad you're seeding here, no reason to remove any tracks at bt.etree.
joe-beacon 2007-10-03 13:17:16

I had 851111 as an early cassette in my collection, always loved the version of "Walking The Dog". I always think of this as the second half of the Summer '85 Tour. If the Summer Tour were "crimson red", this Fall Tour is "indigo blue". The recordings from this tour are fantastic, like the Summer '85 stuff. I do remember that most people seem to like this show (11-10-85) better than the one I had (11-11-85). Good stuff, enjoy!
Eric_D_A 2007-10-03 14:43:22
Just BTW, re: "If the Summer Tour were...", that grammar is correct (though people get it wrong all the time, even writers for TV shows...), because, if something is wished for (if it is not a reality that actually happened or it is something wished for in the future) one would use "were", NOT "was". An example, "If I were a sailor...", because I never was in the past, nor am I yet (and might never be) a sailor (I never "was"...), I say (kinda wistfully, picturing the sea breeze against my rugged cheek, my jutting jawline against a beautiful blue sky... kinda queer, huh?), "If I were a sailor!" (Oh, the adventures we would have. Wenches? We don't need no stinking wenches!). Hey, I'm *just kidding*, OK? I couldn't stay on a ship that long. I'd find a port and freakin' stay there! {Reading back, I must state: I LOVE WOMEN!} Anyhow, when you wish, use "were", NOT "was". OK. Anytime you are speculating about a future event... like this

GREAT DEAD SHOW!!! If... I had been there. Hey, no problem, I've got this download!!!

Yeah, I know, you must be thinking, "This guy's outta control!". Not far from it, I suppose. Cut! //

Was that necessary?
Eric_D_A 2007-10-03 14:57:37
Final note (I swear...): More from this tour would be greatly appreciated, joe-beacon!!! Good work. I LOVE the '80s, and '85 is the stuff! Everyone here is way cool (witness my ramblings and the lack of a virtual schoolteacher whacking my knuckles with a digital ruler!!! Hey, that sounds kinda nice, now that I think about it... OK, back to reality!). Occasionally, you get a bad apple, ignore them (me, even...), or a worm, you *can* eat the worm, just don't drive afterward, because the vast majority of people here are the kinda people you'd wanna go to a Dead show with (and there's no better kind!). Love the stuff, man! Thank you, thank you, thank you! "I'm from Jersey! Are you from Jersey?" I'm not, btw, native Northern Californian (dig that show "Californication", reminds me of me, minus the good looks, the coke, the hookers, and the viable writer's gig...). Anyhow, if you're still reading, you'll be fine here and YOU ARE APPRECIATED! Wait a minute, I see the cane from the side of the stage...

joebeacon (of good hope and kind shows...)! Rock on, man. We dig it! If someone gives you advice, they are doing it in the best possible way, usually, it's good people here... The right folks will back you up. More! Encore!

"Well, the music's thunderin'. We're reckless and hot!"

Hey Joe (unintentional...), I pick up on the fact that some places like to be secretive, I guess, and I've heard of DIME, but I don't know how to get to it or what is required. This is actually the best site I've yet found (LMA was good), but I'd like to see what's up over there. Can you give me some clues as to what I need to do to get there and successfully login. Between here and LL, I already have too much stuff, but it never hurts to have choices. Thanks, anyway, regardless, and thanks for contributing! Some of us have slower connections (for now), so I'm not in a big hurry for stuff if that helps... : ) don't feel you have to post a ton of stuff, it's all good (here). That is one thing, here the quality is generally pretty high for what gets posted. I'd post the best sounding stuff first and check what feedback you get. We dig it. You're great, thanks.
joe-beacon 2007-10-03 17:15:40
dude, go to dimeadozen.org you will have to sign up for it . there are x amount of people they let on the site but if you go to sign up and you are turned down keep trying . every 20 minutes they clean out membership and get rid of the people that haven't been on in a while so it took me about 20 minutes of trying before i got on . my buddy hit it the first time he tryed so its a crap shoot . i have been on it now for 4 years and there is ten times as much stuff as on here but there is more jam band stuff on here and they are alot cooler on here then there . you can also go to thetradersden.org is another good site and they let you upload shows that dime doesn;t allow .good luck .joe
bop99 2007-10-03 17:53:38
thanks for the tunes joe.

:-)
carpetdawg1 2007-10-03 18:51:04
I was at this show...It was nuts. The Giants were playing a game next door during the day. I ate around 10...yes 10 doses. The lot was out of control, with the Giants game letting out at the same time the Dead were gearing up. It was a gate crash scene...the papers reported that several thousand people got in without tickets...Yes, I was one of them! Good Times!!!
Thanks for the up!
joe-beacon 2007-10-03 19:53:51
i went to that giants game they where playing the rams and the giants won . i remember it being a mad house . i got in some people cut open the fence and everyone got in up to the stadium then it got crazy from there most people didnt have tickets and the guards couldnt stop anyone ...joe
carpetdawg1 2007-10-03 20:02:00
Yep...my friend used toenail clippers to untwist the ties on the chain link fence, that wrapped around BBA. Then, we got in the entry where they were taking tickets & someone kicked a door open... I ran like hell up to the seating. I didn't get caught, but I heard someone get tackled behind me & didn't look back! Great show, w/ the Half step->Rider 2nd set opener...I think they only did that 2 or 3 times ever!!! Awesome experience!
Time Is Free 2007-10-03 22:21:40
thanks for the nice show! Joe! I'm sort of a spunion myself, but Eric you really crack me up! lookin' forward to readin' some more of your spontaneous visual imagery. Have a good night.
Eric_D_A 2007-10-03 22:33:26
I'll tell ya what and I'm not kidding. I have been cleaning up my stuff recently (not by choice) and most of my cassettes are in storage. I have a few lying around, anyway, I grabbed 3 (actually 2, I was an empty case) when I went to take a shower, and, lo and behod, one was a Grateful Dead Hour with 690503 (?), Jefferson Airplane and GD at The Family Dog (buncha wild tunes, Louie, Louie; Peggy Sue {Jorma singing}, a very fast Big RR Blues, Johnny B. Goode {Garcia}... and more!), anyway, the other side of the tape (and the 2nd half of the Dead Head Hour, I think) was...

11-10-85

Really... and I thought I'd never heard this or had it (don't remember ever listening to this tape), yet TODAY, of all days... it turns up, and I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I HAD PICKED IT!

C'mon, is that weird or what?!? It IS! There has got to be some higher intelligence, because this stuff happens just WAAAYYY too frequently... and it's not the substances, because I haven't had ANYTHING "illegal", nor tobacco or alcohol in about 17 years (good for me!). Though a prescription for back pain medicine (already got a lot of that, but...) the green natural stuff (YOWZERS!!! AND I LIVE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PURPLE!!! Uh... I meant *PEOPLE*... sure I did...). A nice kushy timeout to relax my back sounds good, but I'm not sure how related they are... when I tense up, my back hurts worse, I do know that, anyway...

This show fairly smokes (no pun intended). The Cassidy is top notch, an energetic It's All Over, Now (and energetic is saying a lot for that tune, though I like it a lot), including a very frenzied slide solo by Mr. Bob Weir, two choruses at that! There is also an interesting false stop in Bucket... I'm still listening to it, so... this show has a ton of energy. It rocks!

Killer, joebeacon, I am REALLY DIGGIN' this show!!! A winner if there ever was one.

Thanks for the info. on those other sites, I really don't like registering, because I don't want to leave any obvious tracks (in case the RIAA goes nuts some day...), so I'll go check it out first. Thanks!

OK, next tune, I might as well stop to review that also... Row Jimmy, which has never been a favorite, though there are some nice versions, esp. the reggae-fied ones in the late '70s, and the '74s... Hey Bob is doing some nice arppegiating, kinda like Bunny Wailer did on bass (or, that was Family Man Barrett, right?), anyway, *Bob is reggae-ing this one up a bit*, GREAT!

"I don't know... seems a common... way to go..."

Bob's layin' on the whammy bar tonight, subtly, effectively...

[You show me a look that's says, "Let's go..."] Alright.

*Loosely tight*, as Jimmy Page was wont to say. That's the nutshell version. A keeper! Nice show, even for '85, which has a lotta nice ones! This and the next night make a nice pair.

joe-great to see you on public tracker#1. Really enjoying this run you are seeding. The only thing I think you need is to post your md5 for the show in the desciption body.
