|Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading.
|Best Big River I've heard. First set really smokes. Thanks Tiger
|this was my 5th show! its a must have in your collection, as well as 9-20-82! get this!
|Thanks a lot, this looks great. If I make it through the next couple of days I'm going to have to buy another external hard drive. Luckily, I'm getting out of Dodge on Thursday to go see moe. in Las Vegas.
San Diego (500 homes destroyed so far)
|Is this an upgrade to the one that's got the swearly, phase shifty intro ..into Playin' ? That was the only thing that drove I & I crazy..the rest of the show is stellar!!
|This was a nice show. Really enjoyed the High Time. My 2nd show at MSG, my first being another great one, 3-10-81. Well worth the drive up from Philly!
Thanks for putting this up for D/L.
|PLAYS ALMOST 1/2 STEP FAST ... sorry, but I verified with a tuner and it's the sad truth ...
|That's me with the two stars - I see there is a pitch corrected version out there already - I dropped a calling card over at the db entry too, just to seal the fate of this source (I hope)
|This is way fast.I know its been said, but jeez they could'nt play this fast on meth!!!!!!! Thanks anyway.
|It *would* be cool if stuff is fast, to either fix it or outsource that job to someone who can. Just a thought. I LOVE THIS ERA OF GD! Anti-speed, though. Thanks anyway.
|As stated in my earlier note there is already a pitch corrected version listed at db. Therefore no action required on our parts.
|Thanks Lilypad, for keeping the pond clean.
So just for my curiosity, not because I doubt it, but what's the process to confirm the speed. You mention a tuner - whaddya do, find a note that should be, say "A-440" and see if it hertz? And if that is how you do it, how do you isolate the note to check with your tuner?
Seems like to stoopid a question to click the "Do it" button for but
|"Thanks Lilypad, for keeping the pond clean"
just an fyi, seeding an accepted etree source of a GD show is not pissing in the pool; yes, a speed-corrected version is available
but some may very well want this particular source
thanks tiger, as always
|Playin' is in D major; find a guitar and make sure it's in tune with a tuner at A=440 (the accepted rock music frequency for A, arbitrarily chosen for us by our various common musical ancestors) and then compare. You can do this with most any GD song, as they rarely strayed from the original key a song was written in. But beware; there are some exceptions: Wang Dang Doodle was played in a few different keys over the years.
I am actually one of those obnoxious sorts who can just tell, though. It comes from taking violin lessons when I was three. Long story. It's actually more of a curse than a useful capability. Anyway, I confirmed this particular seed's speed with a tuner, because I'd hate to be wrong in a public forum. That would be absolutely unbearably humiliating.
I think the original (non pitch corrected) source should be preserved in 'the pond' because there might well be a superior way to pitch correct a source in five years and then the current pitch corrected source would be a liability.
However, this source will not be taking up space and nutrients in my own personal 'pond' and furthermore I don't see the point in widely disseminating it, unless it is clearly marked as off-pitch (especially when a corrected version already supposedly exists)
Hence my Lassie-like sounding of the alert today.
|someone please help.. i can't convert this flac to wave... something about codex???? this is happening quite often with other shows
