Important news from bt.etree.org!

Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.

If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.

Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.

This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.

For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.

Thanks, and happy downloading.

Thanks for sharing!
rhinowing 2007-11-09 22:26:48
thanks. Are you planning on putting this on the LMA?
RDunn 2007-11-09 23:57:06
Once I can bail on this I'll be starting a torrent for the Derek Trucks Band show I recorded tonight. If somebody wants to up to LMA, that would be great. Just reply back here if you're going to do it so multiple people don't do the same thing.

Just hopped on the torrent, thanks for taping and sharing so fast!!

I would be more than happy to upload to the LMA... unless rhinowing is already planning on it?? Let me know brah.
JRiordan35 2007-11-10 02:01:05
Forgot to ask -- do you have a preference on allowing the LMA to automatically generate lossy format files for this show as well (MP3 & OGG for download and also for streaming from within the browser window)?

I am all about lossless, but it is pretty nice how the LMA does it, especially for checking out a recording before you download.

If you prefer to only have FLAC available, that's fine, it's always up to the taper, just let us know. Thanks.
Tulum 2007-11-10 02:35:41
Thanks
RDunn 2007-11-10 07:50:42
If you can upload the LMA that would be great. And I don't have a problem with having the lossy versions up as well. I actually record at 24 bit & burn those to DVD-Audio for my listening... but I also "dumb it down" to 256k MP4 for my iPod. My little iTunes library is now at just over 62,000 songs :^)

Robbie

PS Once people have had a chance to listen to the recording.... let me know what you think of it.
rhinowing 2007-11-10 12:37:08
JRiordan-I don't have plans to put it on LMA, seeing as how I forgot to start the torrent last night :/

Hey mate, I was at the show too, and I thought it kicked ass. I was just two rows in front of you but I was on the left. I think your recording sounds really good because from where I was sitting, the bass was over powering so this recording helps me hear some things I missed during the show. Thanks =)
kdognc 2007-11-11 17:23:03
hey now robbie, whats up?? again, i say thanks, many times, i was in new york for the phil run an missed out on this... cheers and thanks, see ya down the road somewhere.
cheers

I heard this recording and it is really sweet; my preferred source for this tour. Thanks a million!
RDunn 2007-11-12 21:27:22
Thanks for the nice comments on the recording. I was setup "in the sweet spot", but unfortunately a girl right in front of me was "a squeeler". I thought for a minute the Beatles were playing :^)

Also, I just uploaded this to Live Music Archive so for those who don't do bit torrents, you can jump on it there.
