Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

from the Crooked Still homepage
Hello friends-
Here is some breaking news:
After 6 years of creating one of the most unique and compelling forms of alternative bluegrass and string band music today, we are announcing a change in our line-up. Cellist Rushad Eggleston will perform his last show with the band on November 18th.
We are thrilled to welcome two new members: Tristan Clarridge on cello and Brittany Haas on fiddle. They have both played in Darol Anger's Republic of Strings, along with numerous other projects.
A talented multi-instrumentalist, Tristan Clarridge is a 4 time Grand
National Fiddle Champion, and the only person besides Mark O'Connor to hold that title for three years consecutively. As a cellist, he also tours with Darol Anger's Republic of Strings, his
sister Tashina, and has toured with Cape Breton fiddle phenomenon Natalie MacMaster. He is a regular instructor at Mark O'Connor's Strings Conference in San Diego, and at Alasdair Fraser's Valley of the Moon Scottish Fiddling School.
Fiddler Brittany Haas has been making waves all over the string world since 2001. A California Bay Area native and student of the great Appalachian fiddler Bruce Molsky, she began to work with Darol Anger and was soon a charter member of his band, Republic Of Strings. She has performed all over the world with many musicians and groups including Tony Trischka's Double Banjo Bluegrass Spectacular (with which she has appeared twice on national TV with banjoist/comedian Steve Martin), The Websters and Scott Nygaard, Danny Barnes, Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas, Bruce Molsky, Yonder Mountain String Band, the Waybacks, and Tristan & Tashina Clarridge. She is a regular instructor at Mark O'Connor's Fiddle Conferences and is currently studying Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Princeton University, where she also plays drums in the marching band. Die hard Crooked Still fans will also know Brittany's playing from Hop High, as she guests on several tracks!
We are so excited about the addition of Tristan and Brittany and will begin recording a new album in January 2008. Keep an eye out here and at our myspace page for details and updates!
In the meantime, don't miss these final shows with Rushad.
That's all for now folks. We hope to see you all very soon!
Love, Crooked Still

| Thanks for the show. Rashad seemed like the Gene Simmons of bluegrass to me,but I admit I dont know too much about the dynamics of this band. Good set, though. Im looking forward to hearing the new line-up. Sounds impressive. Cheers. |

| Thanks. I'm eager to hear these last Crooked Still shows with Rushad, but I'm also really wanting to hear the new lineup. Tristan Clarridge is amazing - I have a great set with him playing with Darol Anger and Danny Barnes from the KBOO Pickathon in 2006. And prodigy is not too strong a word for Brittney Haas either. I'll be glad to see both of them get a little more exposure. Thanks, Bill! |

| I talked to Rushad at the Bath, ME show and he said he mentioned that he was living out in California now and that he was going to go full time with his band The Butt Wizards. Its a pretty nuts band, and he said something to the effect of "yeah, its cool because i get to play my electric cello while jumping around on stage in my underpants". hopefully he will still tour the east coast though, the music is great. |
