Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

It may surprise some of you that for todays anniversary show I chose this Microtech Gefell source, but the main reason why I do so is very simple: On my home stereo and on my Sennheiser Headphones this source turned out to be - to my ears and imho - the (slightly) best sounding source. I just love this one and think it's a must-have source for this show. Looks like the Hampton Coliseum and these mics worked really, really good together ten years ago.
A search of this show on this tracker also showed that apparantly this source hasn't been seeded in a pretty long time, so maybe it's undercirculated among those people who still are assembling their Phish collection and don't have multiple sources of several shows. That is reason #2 why I decided to chose this one.
Reason #3 is that the FOB Schoeps source still is alive on this tracker. If you already have this Microtech source and want to get the FOB, go here and grab it:
http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=509830
Reason #4 is that not long ago the AKG 461 source (shn-id 86507) was seeded and that many people who are downloading here probably already grabbed that one some months ago.
I hope you people don't mind my decision and enjoy this seed as much as I do. If too much protest or discussion comes up, I can seed an alternative source of your choice in addition to this one (the dankseed one perhaps). In that case post your requests here.
Happy Anniversary Listening everyone!

Your project is making me cry. I miss these guys badly! These 2 shows were so good! I dont think you can go wrong with any of the sources available.
Thanks so much for all the time and work you have put into this project |

Thank you! No protesting needed, if you like it best we should all trust you. You obviously put it to the test. some of the MG sources are superior, this year especially. I just found this to be true for 7-10-97 IMO. Basically you might sacrifice a little low end for more clarity, which goes a long way in 97 with all the intricate layering and such.
I already spun Emotional>melt last night at midnight and it seems to get better with age like a fine wine. I still can't believe that they opened with such a great, never played cover and NAILed it like never again, AND jammed it beutifully! It set the tone for the unforgetable 2 night stand.
What can I say about the SO&M... by the final climax if your hairs on your back aren't standing up and your grin isn't from ear to ear as the crowd goes wild...
I can't wait to spin set 2 with this source tonight. |

Fall '97 is huge. Thanks for seeding all these shows on their tenth anniversary. In particular, these last four shows, and even more specific, this second set. Every tune was jammed our and played to perfection.

So stoked to listen to this source tonight...
I miss Hampton oh so much. This was definitely my favorite 2 night run and it feels so bizarre to think it was a decade ago. |
