Important news from bt.etree.org!

Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.

If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.

Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.

This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.

For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.

Thanks, and happy downloading.

I lost my copy of this show years ago never to see it again - thanks for the upload
slownewone 2007-12-07 12:25:59
This kicks ass. I been looking for this show for awhile now. Just downloaded the 9/01/01 show from Hookahville a few days ago and was hoping this would pop up. I was there for this and floated the whole set.

Thanks a lot. Any change someone has the Salmon shows from that weekend or anything else. It was a great Festival.

Lossless fucking sucks. Mp3 or die.

It's time you got off your high-and-mighty-look-at-me-I-like-to-preserve-my-shitty-music pedestal and appeased to the iPod generation. You all are like 50 anyway, you shouldn't know how to use the internet.
jighead 2007-12-07 19:29:18
What?
Time Is Free 2007-12-07 19:50:44
RUFKM? I hope life get's better for you. I am sure one of the 50 of us would be happy to show you how to convert and load your ipod with bt.etree. I am pretty sure most of us 50 have an ipod ourselves. Seemingly, we don't understand why Apple is being such a baby about not accepting flac considering most proprietary band sites sell in flac now in addition to almost all other portables accept the files. I do not think we or Free Lossless Audio Codec is the problem here...Let's be clear it is probably a leading company's wounded pride that they didn't create it :) If you need any help with anything concerning flac, bittorent, loading the ipod with bt.etree send me an email md1blueindian@yahoo.com PEACE

It seems "believable" put up the exact same comment on at least several recent threads. I'm guessing it's a goof, intended to stimulate dialog. Besides, what problem could ANYONE have with lossless?
smeagol 2007-12-07 21:08:38
believable... jump off your nearest bridge... thanks
mando_picker 2007-12-08 10:55:16
on another note, people should check out rockbox. open source software for ipod, irivers, etc. allows you to play all sorts of file types, including flac, on a supported mp3 device. lots of other great features too.
enochroot 2007-12-13 13:51:31
it would be ideal to put flac files on my portable mp3 player, but how do you all deal with the larger file sizes? i can put 3500 192kbps mp3s on my player, but much less flac files. do you just have less music on it at one time and rotate stuff more frequently?
teamdrink 2007-12-14 21:12:51
We taped most of this festival off of the SBD. I would love to hear some audience recordings of Salmon if you taped them. Also I am looking for The Jim Page set.
