ihor is without peer, and this is his contribution to history--if a board of these shows existed, it would've been commercially released long ago.
i was at the late show. "let's spend the night together" came out of nowhere, after lengthy midset adjustments (which ihor had the good taste to leave untaped), and just kept building..... twenty minutes of sheer bliss in the middle of the set! let them who read this understand--it was not business as usual. this version of "let's spend...." was (imho, of course) the best single performance of the hopkins-era jgb, bar none.
don't be dissuaded by the sound quality caveats--it ain't that bad. if you liked jerry's side bands & you don't have this one yet..... well, you know what to do.
now, if someone would kindly reseed gd 5/8/81 sbd, i'd be an abnormally happy camper.
