Important news from bt.etree.org!

Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.

If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.

Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.

This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.

For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.

Thanks, and happy downloading.

This is too early for DATs at the board and the break between drums and space is the marker for a tape flip.
charlie miller 2008-01-16 09:36:20
This has the same tape flip as joani's cassette master. I think we now know who the source is.
charlie miller 2008-01-16 10:02:54
Just so everyone knows, first dat sbd in the vault is 12/27/87.

First PCM in the vault is 12/28/82.

The 4/17/82 set 2 PCM is apparently from a patch that Healy gave to someone.
crazy4golf2003 2008-01-16 10:35:55
Excellent show.Thank you so much. Now if only you can up the other 2 shows. It would be much appreciated.Have a great day everyone.
Eric_D_A 2008-01-16 11:57:29
This show seems short, is it sped up at all, or was this just a brief concert? Fits on 2 CDs with lots o' room to spare. I LOVE the show, and would welcome many more from 82-84!
aquaticb 2008-01-16 12:34:55
wait a minute, i have this show....this is 5-7-84. and its not short, china>rider starts set II
charlie miller 2008-01-16 13:22:05
This may be fast. I don't know, I haven't heard it. But my transfer is 2 minutes longer.
jsaue055 2008-01-16 13:52:19
we know china is in the key of g major....
Eric_D_A 2008-01-16 14:12:29
I sincerely apologize, in my haste, I missed putting about 3 songs into my Set 2 playlist in iTunes... hellooo.... So, it seems fine. It seemed odd, because it didn't sound fast, particularly (the way I've heard more than a few early to mid '80s shows... esp. AUDs).

It's good! Sorry, false alarm (hate that...). Lemme get my prescription and back on the way to health... or at least less back pain. What's a poor boy to do? Beats the alternative...

Thanks, Charlie. I apologize for my oversight. You're a great person (no higher praise than that!).

BTW: I LOVE THESE '83s! They were the first tapes I ever had... I got a batch of '83s and never looked back!
Eric_D_A 2008-01-16 14:30:06
BTW: this show (reconstruction1979-07-08.shnf.torrent) is great! Any who don't have it should grab it fast! (Listed under Garcia here at bt.etree)...

I was a student in Eugene and attended these shows.

The Hult was a brand new, opulent music hall/opera house -- it's a wonder they let us kids in at all.

I believe this has what we referred to as the "two headlight" I Know you Rider.
SHAKDOWN 2008-01-17 13:11:17
This show does have a great sound to it. Lots of Phil! I believe I have the real Charlie Miller version that is patched w/ Senn 421. The highlights for me are during the transition of Mama Tried >a rockin' Big River; the Phil Bomb can't be missing on the first note. The Bird Song is respectable, you can forget about and skip the Esau. The Deal that closes the set is BLISTERING. Play that one at full volume to get the best results. The China>Rider is also quite great with the multiple peak jams before dropping into I Know You Rider. All is going pretty well till Jerry repeats his "headlight" line twice.....You can tell it throws the band of a bit. Pretty Funny!
