Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

| The onstage recordings Charlie Miller and others have made of Kimock's bands are the most amazing non-soundboard recordings I've ever heard. With no vocalist standing in the middle of the stage, they had a sweet spot to place mics. I would love to hear the real story of how it worked from someone more techincal... I treasure these recordings. |

There's also a separate recording mix I did at this show with mics all over the stage and direct feeds from the sbd. It is available at DigitalSoundboard.net. It also includes the soundcheck

This show has great sound and is a real smoker. I often listen to this stage recording Charlie & Arielle recorded. I can only imagine what the MaTriX sounds like from DigitalSoundBoarD. Nice recording cm & ap. Thanks for archiving this as well:

<<<With no vocalist standing in the middle of the stage, they had a sweet spot to place mics. I would love to hear the real story of how it worked from someone more technical..>>>
2 mics onstage front and center (even if they had the polyphonic spree up there, the mics would not be in the way) catching all of the stage instrumentation. There is no separate PA mix requiring pickup so all the sound essentially comes from the stage. You get very little crowd ambiance since the mics are unidirectional, facing away from them. The crisp amplification blending with the drums make for remarkable recording in an ideal situation. If there were, say, a vocalist, keyboard and/or a saxophone, it would be necessary to either mic the house PA or mix in a board feed in order to catch them at an appropriate level. I'm not sure of the exact method they used, but 2/22/02 is one of the finest Kimock recordings ever made. Check it out! |
