Important news from bt.etree.org!

Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.

If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.

Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.

This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.

For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.

Thanks, and happy downloading.

I don't know if this is the copy I have, but on mine there's a lot of wind in the mikes.
High + Lonesome 2008-02-10 19:35:04
I know I have a SBD or DSBD of this, not sure what source off the top of my head, but this show is so much fun, and man it's worth the DL for the Arabia alone, then closing the show with Bela is just straight fun. How many times have [you] seen a Jer/Grisman/Bela Ripple? Right.
contact420 2008-02-10 20:42:25
I got a board copy of this a few years ago and the wind is just atrocious. Is this an upgrade from what I have, which i believe I got from GD Live??? Any help/input would be appreciated.

Thank you!

There was an extreme amount of wind up on the hill that day. What a great show it was! Fondest memory is of Bill Graham zinging aroud on his dirtbike on the road going down the hill just GRINNING away. Got a copy of this the same night after show. When we transferred, it came out in Mono-this will be better I'm sure.

Alot of wind, it sours the sound quality, can anyone work this out to a better sound quality

Thank you !

I've never heard any copies of this without the wind noise and probably won't...because it was windy! To say the wind sours the recording is not only overstating it but misses the point entirely. Did anyone at Squaw Valley manage to hear the show without the wind blowing in their ears? You're hearing the weather which is a beautiful thing. Enjoy it. If only more pieces of those memories could've been collected...
trluff 2008-05-11 15:42:37
...and another thing: these Squaw Valley shows from '91 (this and the JGB show from the night before) are awesome. The quality of the recordings are worth it alone, then you hear the performances reveal some of that kinship that existed amongst these musicians.
Good stuff.

I will never ever forget these shows. I did Telluride, Co. a week or two before. Got into Squaw Valley two days before festival started. We camped along a river, it was just beautiful! While camping people started comming in & the rumor was that if you hiked the mountain, you got in for free. We set out the day before, mapped a route, & did a trial climb. Was so much fun, it's a 2200 foot climb to the ski bowl! Its not for the faint hearted. The day of the 1st show, we set out for the climb, while getting some provisions at a local grocer. I ran into an old friend from the East Coast, he just got released from prision in Atlanta 3 days prior. (Busted by the feds at the Omni 3 years prior). I was shocked to see him, never thought I'd see him again. He reached into his pocket, ask me if I wanted pure dose of liquid? He dosed me big time!! I will never forget climbing that mountain, reaching the top while Jimmy Cliff was playing. Meet the most beautiful girl in the world at Telluride, and there she was again. She took one look at me & knew I was trippin hard. She held my hand & we danced all day & night together. After Jerry finished his encore that night, a huge old coyote sat at the top of the ski bowl & howled at the rising moon. I will never forget it!
Thank you for the up, one very treasured momory for me.

grate story and grate seed!
danabis 2009-09-27 01:39:27
I had this, and lost the first part. It is a great show. There is definitely wind in the mics, but the SBD is about as clear as conditions would allow. My friend, who requested this one from me said "I dont think I am exaggerating when I say that was probably one of the highlights of my life."
Thanks to the poster for making this lost treasure available to us again.
