Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

| The whole run is up over at lossless legs. CM, god bless you (from an athiest, no less!). This run of shows is so amazing and special. You can actually hear how much Jerry and Brent loved to play with each other. All at once ,I was sad, touched and rockin' with all of it, Check out that Bertha and man, that Bird Song is top ten for sure. Thanks, man. |

ATTENTION !!!! TO ALL YOU HEADS OUT THERE BLESSED WITH 'THE EARS' FOR REEEEAALLY {{{LISTENING}}} TO THE GOOD OLD GRATEFUL DEAD - DO -NOT- PASS THIS SHOW UP !
The WHOLE run is grrreeeat with that sizzling electricity that the boys really started kicking down the summer tour of 1989 that lead on to much furthur siiick siiiick shows to come (FROM The FROST ON TO JFK, Alpine (!!!!!) The Greek, Cal Expo, Shoreline ..... & HAMPTON ... AND on and on)
The second set on this particular night is as white HOT as the day it was played in sweltering Sacto. Grab your cush-ass, dope-ass, SONY Studio Monitor Headphones ..... ANNNND LET 'ER RIIIIIP !
The WHOLE crew was simply firing on ALL cylinders .... "YOU" can reaaally {{{FEEEEL}}} The BUUZZZZ as they are tuning up into a ripping 'Scarlet Begonias' ..... >take note< b/c as of right now, you have been forewarned about the 'FIRE' that follows.
EASILY, some of my favorite latter day versions of a lot of tunes in the 2nd set -BUT- this 'FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN' ..... THE HAMMER JUST DROPS INTO PURE SEEEAARING RAW INTERPLAY BETWEEN THE BAND .... -BUT- ......
it's Senor Garcias' playing/soloing that is ALL THE FIREWORKS and is some of the most remarkably intense phrasing of skullfucking notes, the mindbending MIDI-madness full of reverb & screeching feedback that brings that shit-eating grin to yer face .....
...... all the while the the 2-headed monster of drummers rise and fall in time right there with their brothers ..... tremendous polyrythyms right alongside Weir's unmistakable quirky fills of exquisite texture ...... all the while Brent pounces/dances along soooo eloquently twinkling them keys up and down yer spine & bomb-dropping, boomin-badaassss PHIL somehow keeping the MOTHERSHIP from taking-off toooo faaassst ~~> Leshs' classicly trained orchestration of beautifully "grounded" and so well rounded chugging that awesome, custom-made, 6 string Modulus ....... SHHHHHH*****T YAAAA'LL, WHAAAAAT-EVEERRR .... JUST LISTEN AND YE SHALL FIND ALL THAT MAGIC LIVE DEAD ETHER BLOWING YER F'ING MIND .... and, just as alllwaaaays before, in the end, ALL I COULD EVER MUSTER FROM MY ECSTATIC BLISS WAS:
THE GOOD 'OL GRATEFUL DEAD, THANK GOD FOR THE GOOD 'OL GRATEFUL DEAD ! ! ! ! ! ! !
" They're not the best at what they do - THEY ARE -THE ONLY ONES- THAT DO WHAT THEY DO !!! " -Bill Graham
I am obviously tripping down memory lane of the good old days and getting 'a bit' carried away, hmmmmm, maaaybe -BUT- DON'T THINK FOR A SECOND THAT I DON'T BELIEVE -EXACTLY WHAT I WROTE, but hey, figger it out fer yo'selves, my friends ..... JUST LISTEN ....... AND BE TAKEN AWAY TO THAT PLACE "SOME OF US" INVESTED A LOT OF TIME JOURNEYING TO & FROM .... LEARNING, LIVING & LOVING EVERY-DAMN-MINUTE OF IT ~NAMASTE'~
" Gone are the days .... " but thank the powers that be and most of all, the boys, for their initial creations and being ALTOGETHER SOOOO TALENTED, SOOO AWARE, SOOO CONSCIOUS & SOOOO KIND TO GIVE 'US' THESE MOMENTS , SO AS TO HAVE THAT PORTAL THAT ONLY REQUIRES THAT WE TAKE A MOMENT FROMOUR DAY TO SIMPLY PUSH 'PLAY' AND ...... {{{POOOOF}}} WE ARE INSTANTLY TRANSPORTED RIGHT-BACK TO OUR INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE(S) ..... THAT TO THIS DAY, STILL DEFY BEING PUT INTO .... "W O R D S" .....
'It's a Grateful Dead-thing, maaaaan - you just wouldn't understaaaannd ; )' |

just got around to listening to this......wow....talk about a heady set closer> set opener.....
I got to see my first shows in 87, and by 89 I was a foaming at the mouth fanatic...still I would run into heads who swore the best was long ago in the past...I felt bad for them....did they not see and hear what was happening some nights, live!? This is a great example of the band at it's late 80's best...I dare say no better live rock band on the planet played on 8/6/89 |
