Important news from bt.etree.org!

Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.

If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.

Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.

This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.

For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.

Thanks, and happy downloading.

Just for the fun of it, here's another source for the acoustic show on Nov 17, 1978.
SteveSw 2008-02-19 22:24:18
So now we have four sources of this set available on eTree for your listening pleasure:

Oh wow. I would like to download the best sound quality version of this show--
can somebody who has checked them recommend the best one? Thanks in advance and to all those who posted and shared the torrents.
Time Is Free 2008-02-19 23:25:00
Thanks Steve...for the alternate sources...and especially for the Hornsby...Do you have any solo Hornsby?
SteveSw 2008-02-20 00:17:11
Scott, does your torrent client let you download individual files rather than entire torrents? If so, you might grab a song from a couple of these sources and see what you think. It seems to me like 32318/32879/80703 are more processed than 7687, so who knows which of those you might like more? I like 7687 better, but that's just my taste. And none of us have heard the new remaster yet. So it's hard to give you absolute advice.

TimeIsFree, I do not have much solo Hornsby. I focus mostly on collecting the good old Grateful Dead.

Hey Steve,

This source is infinitely better than the one I have. Thank you very much for posting this!

Peace,
Audiohead22
audiohead22 2008-02-20 03:25:18
Appendment to last comment - when I said 'infinitely better', I was referring to the generational quality, not the overall sound. Agreed Steve, the 7687 is far brighter and more present. It just has the strong generation displacement unfortunately. I believe I compensated for it as best as possible without changing the parameters.

Peace,

For what it's worth, I gotta agree with you, SteveSw. "7687" is the best.
Albix 2008-02-20 11:00:16
ummm...... thank YOU!
scottsays 2008-02-20 11:14:48
Thanks-- I am going to go with the "7687" one for now.
I am lazy and did not want to download them all or a portion of each, LOL. Thanks for the input and the post---

There are a couple of shows I'm still looking for-
if anyone has these--can you please post? Thanks!!!!

A big thank you to David Gans! http://www.trufun.com/";

ANY THOUGHTS HOW THIS ONE RANKS??
SteveSw 2008-02-21 00:25:11
32318 is being seeded: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=509741.

So far as I can tell, 32318 is exactly the same source as this one, just different fingerprints, but the music sounds the same and the wav files are exactly the same length.

As compared to 7687, the "gans" source sounds like it's had some significant noise reduction or compacting of some sort. While 7687 has more cassette gens, it sounds much more present and full. The remaster seeded last night was an attempt to compensate for problems with 7687.
