Important news from bt.etree.org!

Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.

If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.

Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.

This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.

For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.

Thanks, and happy downloading.

Awesome! Thanks!
raoulduke 2008-03-08 12:40:54
thanks for the seed.

what was powering the 414s, i.e. what was between the mics and the d8?
jadwarf 2008-03-08 12:41:39
Sorry I neglected to include md5 checksums (hey that's really redundant with flac). I've edited the description to include them now but unless I kill the torrent and rebuild it, I don't think you can add the file itself. If having it pasted into the description is not good enough, kill it and I'll go to HungerCity.org.

Edit #2
After a quick phone call, I've garnered additional (requested) info and edited the description thusly. Again, no way to change the txt file within the torrrent.
Redundantly:

regarding the md5/ffp, you only need one or the other. i usually include both, but if you had to pick only one, a ffp is preferred. there's no reason to move your torrent to a different tracker.

thanks for fleshing out the lineage, it's much appreciated.
jadwarf 2008-03-08 13:08:52
I'll eventually get this right! I had placed the "CD2:" incorrectly in the .txt file (the flacs are named correctly)! There are in fact 14 tracks on CD1 and 11 tracks on CD2. I'm editing above now but note your .txt file will be wrong. Hint: it you want to fix yours now (while leaching or seeding) copy it first (adding 'revised' ) so you don't goof the torrent.
jadwarf 2008-03-08 13:55:11
This torrent (being my second seed) is incredible to watch. Having read the news reports of providers actively sending 'hangup' signals to discourage bit torrenting, I had my max upload preset to 40 in the hope that I 'flew under the radar'. Thinking here 'oh what the heck', I have reset to wide open. I'm often giving many hundred now, but I am really seeing MANY more 'dropoffs' (and subsequent reconnects) of leaches especially most of you who are exceeding 25 to 40 each. It's very interesting! The torrent is running well but either some of your providers (OR MINE) is definitely interfering here.
devolvershemp72 2008-03-08 14:29:52
Thanks. Been waiting for this show
bvaz 2008-03-08 15:00:25
thanks for this.
it sucks that ISPs need to interfere with spreading legal music. I have RCN and have no problems and I know Verizon works fine. I think I would go internetless before I had to use comcast again.

for comcast subscribers that live in an area that has another provider, please look into changing service. I get all the movie channels, phone service and internet (20 Mb/s d/l and 2 Mb/s u/l) for less than what I paid comcast a month for just internet and cable. the only way to beat them is switching providers.
newplanet7 2008-03-08 15:55:03
FWIW,
I have coNcast and have no troubles seeding.
Yet my buddy who lives 40 miles from me always gets disconnected.
There really aren't any other options out here.
Concast is a rip-off too compared to verizon and rcn
scanman723 2008-03-08 16:55:42
Thank you very much! I was at this show and I can't wait to here this!
RobRFM 2008-03-08 17:38:03

Saw your rig at the show and have been anxiously looking for this show to be posted.

Thanks for sharing. It sounds great!
tlm-170 2008-03-09 18:50:52
Many thanks to Jadwarf for posting this show for me, and Jamie Burks for once again loaning me his rig. I'm truly lucky to have such friends. All delays in getting this to the community were once again mine, as with the Brooklyn show last summer. Thanks also to Stan, Warner, Reed, Mitchell, BillyD, Marc (absent only physically) and everyone else who made this a great night, oh yeah...and the boys!
kilitime 2008-03-10 23:06:02
Thanks, I have comcast and have used option one from this page. Since then I've had very little problem
