Important news from bt.etree.org!
Begining on March 17 2006, all torrents seeded at bt.etree must
include 1) checksum files (.md5, .ffp) that include a checksum for
every lossless audio file in the fileset, and 2) a copy of those
checksums pasted into the torrent description, so everyone can see
them without downloading the fileset.
If you seed a torrent without this information, it will be deleted.
We're telling you this now, so you'll know.
Of course, if there is a problem, we'll try to contact you and help
to fix it. If you don't have a valid e-mail address on your
db.etree.org account, please take a moment to add one. If we can't
contact you, we can't help you, and it be very frustrating for
everyone. Seeders who don't have valid e-mail addresses may find
their logins disabled.
This message will appear on all torrents seeded to bt.etree until
everyone has gotten the message. If your torrent has checksum files
and lists them in the description, thank you! If not, please take a
moment to edit the torrent description to include them. If you have
to add the checksum files from scratch, you'll have to pull this
torrent and start over. Sorry about that.
For help generating checksums, please visit
http://wiki.etree.org or
http://forums.etree.org/viewtopic.php?t=7025. If you have specific
questions, please post them at http://forums.etree.org and someone
will help you ASAP. Please do NOT e-mail us directly.
Thanks, and happy downloading. |

Here's the last of the six August California shows. It's a strange setlist, particularly in the first half of the second set, which is completely filled with first-set songs. If you look back to Sept '90 when Bruce first joined the band, one of the things that changed immediately was that the first sets got a lot more interesting to me: it took until the southern tour before the real jamming kicked in, but the band got the back-and-forth soloing thing right away. Well, that's how this whole show sounds to me, characterized by good back-and-forth soloing throughout the show. Which isn't bad, but also isn't the kind of thing we were getting in June.
I find this Beat It On Down The Line particularly amusing. |

If you crank the volume up right after BIODTL you'll hear some amusing comments by the band. |

Thanks SteveSW, for sending these shows down the pike. By 1991, Lins+Mike were skipping East Coast shows. This was the last of 9 in a row in Cali for us. Also the last time we hit Ca. Anybody remember Bill Graham after this show, just sitting in the seats behind OTS? It may have been late, I'm pretty sure I would have been in no hurry to leave after packing the gear. When we heard he had died, right after that encounter, we agreed Cali shows would never be the same for us. I don't think we made a conscious decision to stop going, but stop we did.
That being said, it was not the performances that made us stop. The addition of Bruce absolutely had upped the ante. Even shows he skipped (we saw CalExpo in May) had a fresh taste. I know how many people feel about Vince, but the keyboard hotseat always seemed interchangeable to me. It was not usually the keys I focused on when seeing or listening to The Boys.
That's some All-Star Band Bill Graham is now promoting. R.I.P. Bill. You're still missed.
Also much love to family friends and fans of Martin Fierro.

Thanks for the up, Steve. What a most interesting set list! I recall having a muddy copy on cassette sometime in the past, and it was probably placed in a deep, dark hole in space because of the quality. This is much appreciated!
I am not up on the process of creating and seeding torrents, and I have a nice, complete Bruce Hornsby show from '96 I could share. It's a first generation. I'd be willing to send the cassettes if someone would be willing to seed it on etree. I don't know the complete set list, though I do know there is a nice Scarlet, Jack Straw, WW Limo, Spider Fingers, amongst others.
Thanks again, Steve. |

There are several people around here who have the technology to transfer cassettes into digital files, mulemilk: I am not one of them. And it turns out that there are way more tapes than there are people who have the technology to do these transfers. Which is unfortunate.
Still, some of the people who do transfers are active on eTree. I hope one of them responds -- I'd love to hear your show.

This show was just nuts. That second set kept sending me deeper and deeper into shock with each song played.
A little story:
During the first set, Healy was listening to a baseball game on his radio, loud enough to be audible on the tapes those of us were recording in the tapers section, directly behind him. Well, some of the other tapers didn't like the fact that they were recording an AM baseball game broadcast with the music, so they started saying "Turn down the radio... turn off the radio." Healy wouldn't have any of that crap from us lowly tapers, so he turned around, and yelled real loud into our mic's "Eat shit and die!"
He eventually did turn the radio down, but most OTS audience tapes will have this little tidbit quite present in the recording.
Hi Steve... sorry to have been out of touch, had a death in the family... I'll get with you soon... |

condolences, altheasboy
for the final night of the 6-show august '91 nor cal run, the band played no repeats. from 8.12 to this night, promised land was the only song to appear twice in its complete form. dark star hit 2 nights, but one as a first verse, the other as a second verse jam. |
