Important news from bt.etree.org!

It's easy to generalize and hard to be useful when you're doing it, but generally speaking, the second three shows of this run seem to me to be stronger than the first three. And that's not just because of the fact that they play two Dark Star's in three nights....
I like the first set from 09-24. I particularly like the Althea, the High Time, the Big Railroad Blues, and the New Speedway Boogie, but those are just highlights in a very good set. Having said that, I like the second set even more, particularly the first half: if you like any of the songs played in there, I think you will find this night's version real attractive. There's excellent piano work between China Cat and I Know You Rider, the Man Smart and Ship of Fools are both excellent, and then of course there's the Dark Star.... |

| One of my favourite shows of the tour (along with 9/4 and 9/26), and I'm not even much of a fan of the post-'90 Dark Star's. Great song selection, and as mentioned, the Jerry tunes in set 1 are all excellent. And Foolish out of space! |

tinyclown, Bruce played with the band as a member until March 24, 1992, and then as a guest once or thrice a year through the end. We're skipping 09-25, of course; after that, I believe we have 31 shows left to share.
I'm basing my project on the crack investigative research embodied in Deadbase 10, and my comparatively limited ability to process the written word. |

| Thanks, once again, Steve. What a great quality recording of a fine, fine show. Bruce really stands out on alot of this show. Many standouts here are Althea, All Over Now, and of course the Dark Star. Though Jerry blew the lyric on Speedway, one of my all time favorites, the solid instrumental performance by everyone more than makes up for it. |
