Thanks Joe for another fine show! Btartus, you said you were at this show, I think I was also. Did The Band play first ? Did this venue also have high chain link fences surrounding it? Just curious, tryin' to recollect.
gdplusmore 2008-04-16 20:04:47
I remember the high chain link fence, small green field...and small
covered stage...
rdnzl 2008-04-16 20:08:30
Yep the band played 1st. It was goin' alright until that guy freaked Jerry out!! What a moron, he must of thought he was at a Bon Jovi show!!! LOL
garciaweir 2008-04-16 22:00:13
This is a must have Jerry show no doubt. Thank you been searchin for a sbd since it happened but I dont think it exists... I was at this one, and me a high time for sure. FYI Im 'bout 99% sure Robert Hunter opened not the Band.
Thank you for gettin this up.

That guy was a huge fucked-up joey! I think he knocked over a cymbal stand as he jumped from above and behind the stage, ran up next to Jerry & put his fists in the air in triumph. Jer just kept on playin, with his glasses all low on his nose...the joey guy got all HYPnotized long enough for the hugest security dudes to take him Down, with a vengence. Jerry didn't seem to miss a beat!

i have had bill r.s sources for years, where you set up near him joe? monster show start to finish. thanks for this new source. and yes, any chance for the 24bit ??
peace, dan

yes, i too remember the high chainlink fences, and parking on a grass field, and what seemed like lots of college kids security types; i wasn't, unfortunately, close enough to the stage to see the 2nd set joker run on stage and screw things up, but it was a good time i had, even if i was there solo, just didn't have any friends into Jerry at that time of my life, but it was my first and only Jerry show and so it sits solid in my head and heart; hard to believe really that it was 24 years ago, and what a long strange trip it's been since then; cheers

>>>"any chance for the 24bit ??"

Don't think so. The SBM-1 does only ouput 16 bit.
joe-beacon 2008-04-17 09:40:00
i really don't have time to do a 24 bit . i have a apogee mini me that i can use to convert to 24 but i have way to many shows to do . so maybe some time down the road i will do it . but for now 16 bit is all i am doing.joe
rustystrings 2008-04-17 12:08:26
joe

meant no lack of appreciation in asking for 24 bit..just figured thats how you transferred them.

that aside..

Thanks so much for sharing what is a beautiful pantheon of your recording. We eagerly await more!!

Amen to that! Joe, your generosity is much appreciated - thanks!

I was there and I remember a couple hundred people tore down The Fence and got in and almost everyone was cheering. I never understood that.I'm almost possitive Robert Hunter Warmed up.I know it was an all girls Cathlic school but it was summer time or we really would have made the papers. Thanks for putting this one up.
toomanycds 2008-06-08 21:12:25
My first Jerry show and only 3 GD shows at that point. I remember Hunter opening and enjoying the show quite a bit. No recollection of the fence being torn down or a freaky guy mounting the stage. I'm certainly glad I attended but saw Jerry acoustic and the JGB put on substantially more inspired shows than this. (No disrespect to the generous seeder)

The next night I saw Bruuuuce at the Meadowlands and that definetely left a more powerful impression on my teenage mind than did this night. A bizillion dead and Jerry shows, tapes, and cds later, Mr. Springsteen is still a favorite but with decidedly less affection than Messrs Garcia, Weir, Lesh, et al.

Yeah man...this was my first Garcia Band show..I had been in New Haven for the Dead and Saratoga that year...all my first shows...when that dude jumped on stage, we were all freaked out..I was pretty close to the stage and was really blown away by what was going on anyway... I was totally gone when he ripped that Dear Prudence..in heaven...the whole place went nuts, hit this righteous groove...My girlfriend and I drove down in the this like classic 70's era van with these older Deadheads from our town (Stamford) who we thought were so cool; we were like 16 or 17 and there was keg in the back and lots else..definitely far out...I'll never forget this older dude (older, he was prob 25), I think we called him Fuffy or something...he looked out the window as we were driving home and his glasses blew off...poor dude...anyway me and the girl woke up in the van in the AM in someone's driveway...it was all hot and we walked home which was about 1/2 way across town..

Hey guys-
Can anyone seed this? It would mean a lot to my dad if I could get this show for him (It was his first show back in High School).

Thanks!
