track 2 is a Nocentelli original (also played at the fairgrounds earlier that day, he announced the name but I cant remember it, but when they release the live sbd we should know the name) and i'm pretty sure track3 was Cissy Strut, but i can't remember for sure.
this show occured from 3:10 am to 4:26am and by that time the place was nearly empty and my legs were soo tired that I was sitting on a stool in the front row.
please post the opening bands, The Headhunters (who threw it down tight) and Dumpstaphunk (who threw it down even tighter)
for Dumpstaphunks encore Bernie Worrell & Greg Errico! came out for a version of Thank You..!!
I doubt anyone recording Leo's Rare Funk Gathering on sunday night at tips? or captured the live webcast from tips website? (or can at least give me a review of what went down?)
We were there at Tips on sunday for Rebirth Brass Band, but we left and went to the Maple Leaf to see the Headhunters throw it down for 2 hours (the bassist Richie Goods put us on the guest list, so it was free, but it was still a very hard choice to leave and miss the Rare Funk Gathering) (but I saw Leo on friday at the fest and Bernie was being somewhat lazy, and they tried to quit 25 minutes before their time was up.. we made them play another song but they still stopped 10 minutes early, and I know that the show they did in 2003 was only 90 minutes.. so I just made a very hard decision to hit up The Headhunters again since they were so spot on on friday night..)
plus I had already seen Leo play nearly the same songs twice on friday (once at the fest, and once at this late night howlin wolf show.. so I know I was going to hear most of the same songs again at tips on sunday)
it sucks that you can't be in 2 places at once!

| Twas at this show too, great night of music. My friend Ira taped it as well (Neumanns) plus Sunday Howlin' Wolf PBS and The Duo w/ Krasno and Skerik, etc. Howling Wolf was the place to be last weekend! Love that place. |
