Mastering Notes
-- Various drop outs patched with SBD (shnid=9392).
-- Various drop outs patched to mono.
-- d2t0{6,7} - Transition between "Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad" and "One More Saturday Night" patched with SBD (shnid=9392).
Notes
-- d2t04 - "King Solomon's Marbles" as listed is based on the sub-track titles from the CD version of "Blues For Allah", but just tracked here as one song. Title listings of this instrumental found on both commercial releases and legally traded sources are, to say the least, inconsistent. Whatever the case, we reckoned it was paramount to continue the tradition of inconsistency.
Taper Talk
-- According to Bob Menke, "It was an overcast day and we got there early. About 8:30 in the morning. That is how we ended up about 10-15 feet from the stage. The mics were mounted on broom sticks (handheld) and they were split about 20 feet apart. The upfront vocals I believe are the product of a small (relative to PA speakers) speaker on the floor of the stage next to the right PA column. The vocals seem to be blasting from that speaker. Another very intersting point is the fact that the Jefferson Starship opened and their sound from the same PA absolutely sucked. Nothing approaching the clarity and sound quality the Dead got from the same system."

Thank you, everyone who contributed to this! The following comment is *NOT* a complaint, criticism, or whining, so please don't assume that I am in _any_ way ungrateful. It is mentioned here to assist those who may have doubts about the integrity of their copy, as well as those brave souls who may wish to patch such flaws for a future seamless listening experience. That caveat aside, here goes:
During Big River (d1t07), at approx. 00:52, there is a cut which has the effect of removing about ten seconds, the majority of the first verse. The result is the line:
"Well I met her accidentally // and I followed you big river..."
The lyrics between, from "St. Paul Minnesota" to "cavortin' in Davenport" are missing. There is at least one other version/source of this show (seeded summer 2007 by "gofob") that, while of a lower sound quality, does not have this cut. |

| is there a 75 project in the works? this, or rather the Bertha, is the only 75 i have outside of the Vault Great American Music Hall show. it's the last year of that early 70's vibe that i hated so much to see lose its seat to disco-era stuff that begins to wane my interest...perhaps it's come and gone and i've missed it, but either way, tremendous thanks for what reads to be a tremendous upgrade. |

I grabbed this off DIME and want to make the same request here:
Anyone have the Jefferson Starship opener to this show?
They were on the RED OCTOPUS tour: perhaps their highlight. . . .
