| how did hookah go from a up and coming jam band after jerry died to a band who had maybe 40 people on 4/20 this year? everyone laughs at the disco biscuits for bad managing over the last 10 years but in reality, hookah should have made their money and been sitting pretty by now. |

I started seeing Hookah in th fall of 94 and I said then that this band will be as big as Phish and Panic. WTF happened???
I thought by 2000-2001, they would be headlining huge venues, but they are still playing clubs. |

Thanks so much for posting this!!! The download bar just can't go fast enough tonight!
Crazy that this fall will be Hookahville # 30!
The band has definitely had their ups and downs w management, but you've got to give them credit for never selling out and doing everything in house. Lineup changes of course didn't help the popularity of the band, but they have really cleaned shop in the last couple of years and brought back one of their original singers / songwriter John Mullins. And for us Ohioans it sure is a nice treat to still see these guys for about $15 a couple of dozen times a year. But you still wish they would get the recognition they deserve in the jamband world. |

Pretty cool. I was at this one way back when. I can relate to some of the comments about this band. I remember when the band was changing a few members in the late late 90s early early 00s and you seemed to only see hookah stickers on the West Coast.
I have had these tapes for years that had some generations on them from the get go and now lots of hot care exposure, etc. so I am happy to get a fresher copy than I have ever had because the content here is pretty cool and it's a fun vibe.
Trivia: Pink Floyd played the next day and quite a few fans went from here to there.
I have lost many of my Hooka sbds from this era when I was at OU. If I can find some of them still - I'll put them up for those who like this stuff. You used to be able to kind of like - ask and get them from the soundman.
