No moe. this time. Headed to NC.
And, an explanation why this is such a short set..
The Sat. forecast was for rain, thunderstorms swept the area begining early in the morning. Just after noon, the storms turned more violent and the first of three park evacuations took place as the threat of lightning stikes forced the authorities to get the winos out from under their metal framed easy-ups.
Just after 3:00 the storms broke and after the crew squeegeed the stage I was looking forward to Ivan closing out the day. I learned backstage that the plan was to split the time left between the two remaining bands. Trombone Shorty took the stage, saw me from the stage and sent authorities out to ask me not to record, and proceeded to play out their original 1.5 hour set. Good kids and all but not good enough. After setup, Dumpstafunk was left with only about 45 minutes. At six the all done signal was given to which Ivan inquired "one more or was that the last one", and launched into one more.
Short but sweet. |
