Thanks to all the hard work from the folks mentioned above in
their loving care getting these sources out. Both audience
recordings were nothing short of spectacular and the transfer
jobs to digital were all very well done.

---------------------------------------------------------

Tech Notes

FLAC/SHNs were decoded to wave. Wavmerge was used to reassemble
the tracks back to 1 long wave. CEP2.0 was used to align &
synch all of the sources. SF8.0 was used for the EQ setting
pre mixdown. This is a 40% SBD, 30% AUD1, 30% AUD2 mix.

Notes

No noise reduction whatsoever was used in this mix. The
SBD does have some sort of line level buzz/hiss that
changes as well as increases, decreases and disappears
throughout. At times it is not even noticeable and now
that is in a mix with 2 other recordings it is not at
all bothersome. All attempts to remove this noise has
resulted in undesirable effects like removing some of
the music and/or the induction of digital artifacts.

SBD was missing some of the between song crowd as well
as some stage banter. This is now 100% complete. The
holes were patched with a matrix mix of the 2 AUD sources.
These patches were made using a variety of edits, volume
adjustments, EQing and crossfaded. These patches are
smooth and natural and likely completely undetectable.

SBD was missing a small portion of the feedback ending
to 'Like A Hurricane', some of the between song crowd
cheering as well as some stage banter. This hole was
patched with a matrix mix of the 2 AUD sources. This
patch was made using a variety of edits: volume
adjustments, EQing and crossfaded. These patches are
smooth and natural and likely completely undetectable.

SBD was missing a portion of the between song crowd
cheering between 'Roll Another Number' and 'Down By The
River. This hole was patched with a matrix mix of the
2 AUD sources. This patch was made using a variety of
edits: volume adjustments, EQing and crossfaded. These
patches are smooth and natural and likely completely
undetectable.

The disc break is seamless and the 2 disc and be rejoined
seamlessly on longer media.

This version is approx 5 minutes longer than all other
circulating SBD versions.

thnks!
nc_jed 2008-06-11 22:21:22
the originals were amazing, i'm frothing at a matrix mix.... Can't get enough Neil Young.
nickautry 2008-06-11 22:42:17
Thanks for your time in putting this together!! -N
jbyrd 2008-06-11 23:31:38
All thanks and appreciation go to amdig1 for his endless hard work and generosity....the first DTS/matrix I ever d/led was his monster mix of 5/8/77 and needless to say my jaw hit the floor and I was amazed. From what I recall years ago, amdig pioneered the multichannel format and brought this here hobby up a notch :)
velobrewer 2008-06-12 04:48:51
What a great job. This is really excellent. Thanks for all the hard work.
avtdeadhead 2008-06-12 07:30:30
Hi all... not so much a comment as a question. I can't seem to play these flac files with WinAmp 5.53 and I've tried the flac 1.2.1b plugin... all I get as a his. Is there anyone having the same problem, or know how to cure it?

I'm really looking forward to hearing this show.
rhettmd 2008-06-12 21:19:45
I like all the hard work that went into this but does anyone else hear a buzzing in the left channel?

rhettmd 2008-06-12 21:21:20
sorry, I read the info closer. Personally I think the 'play it loud 'is incompatible with the buzzing for me......

newyorkyonder 2008-06-12 21:59:16
Sweet! thanks for seeding.
masonskids 2008-06-14 21:39:31
Is anyone else haveing a problem downloading this?
toeknee420 2008-06-21 06:38:37
This was my first Bonnaroo and first set I got to see. Thanks for putting this up. It's a shame this festival has gone to shit.

I'm curious, what happened this year durring the Metallica set? (If anyone went.) I know they are anti-bootleg and downloading, but the Roo has always been about taping. Was there a headbanging security death squad beating down people with mic stands? No desire to hear it, just want to see how far SuperFly has let this shit go.

Right on for re-seeding this. Another classic is the David Byrne set from a few years later. Check that one out too :)
ritchiem4812 2009-02-23 21:14:55
This is probably the best show I have ever heard in my life!!

Thank you so much for sharing this great show with us!! (Gotta admit, however, for me not as great as James Brown in 1965! HA!) Thank you again!!
