| it's funny you say that funkdoc, one of the things i am least proud of is how i missed this band from 97-04. |

mdarby (1)-- "I'm 50 years old and was going to Dead shows since 73 so why would I want to see a band like phish?"
mdarby (2) -- "I 'm not downloading anybody's shows
I'm merely here for entertainment and getting lots of it"
mdarby (3) -- "just don't like it when people don't RESPECT someone who has different point of view"
funkdoc (4) -- "This was also the last time I saw Phish, and man am I proud of it."
The second quote might explain why people here don't respect your opinion. There are plenty of grateful dead torrents here on etree, do you see anyone going into the comments section and acting like a moron?
Funkdoc...i truly feel sorry for you. To be so proud of missing perhaps the greatest era of this band is really a sorry statement. Whats even more sad is that you missed some of the best Funk this planet has ever seen. But being the Funkdoc, you probably already know that? |

I had a ticket to, and missed this show. My parents read the article about Clifford Ball in GQ and put the kibosh on my Phish going days until I turned 18. . .missed Halloween, WPB and Champaign in Fall 96.
In retrospect, I should have just gone. |

#1. I fail to see the "funk" in Phish.
#2. Feel sorry for me if you will, Phish never did it for me, I tried to enjoy the Lincoln show the year before (yeah, I know, also hailed as a classic), as well as this one. I simply don't like Phish. I have listened to many "era's" of Phish, and it all sounded the same to me.
I do hope Phish comes back so th Phish-ies can go back to what they truly love, and not dilute the scenes that may not necessarily be their first choice.
As far as the arrests, it really irks me when people break the law (whether you like/agree with the law(s) or not), and then bitch that they got caught. If you don't want to get arrested, don't break the law, regardless of how strong your feelings are for whatever you were doing illegally. |

hey whatever your screen name is
you have your opinions... that's obvious
maybe someday you'll learn that not everybody is going to share them
that doesn't make them a bad person
but disrespecting them and calling them names like moron doesn't exactly do much for YOUR point of view
I came to this post because I was there and wanted to cast some light on the situation from a different point of view
I live in the United States where people have freedom of speech
I hope pissh comes back also so all the lost souls have someone to worship
I went to a FEW shows starting in 92 and never saw any growth in anything I cared to listen to so I chose to quit going
I gave up on the Dead after 93 so what's your point?
there is alot of music out there and not all of it is right for everyone
sorry to the original poster... clancy wiggum for all this crap
hey clancy didn't you use to post alot on Zappateers or was it Presence?

| for everyone who thinks 97-04 is the best era of Phish, you may want to go back and listen to earlier years. I don't really care what eras people do and don't like, but making statements like that only shows you are acting just like the person you are tryingt o critiqu. |

Yup, that's me... (still downloading everything there, but not saying very much)
And no need to say sorry to me, I find this stuff pretty amusing :o) |

| PS...bitchin' to phish heads about breaking the law...regarding pot? Someone passes their downtime by starting arguments just to get a rise out of people. Its like going to a synagogue to try to recuit for your local white-supremecist organization, and then calling everyone there narrow -minded for throwing your ass out! |

one more thing i found funny and more than ironic:
funkdoc wrote:

you mean so YOU can stop diluting the comments section in bands that might not be your first choice? |

"you mean so YOU can stop diluting the comments section in bands that might not be your first choice?"
Well done, you got me. |
| mdarby |
2008-06-18 18:04:40 |
comments by me are exactly that
but at least I can make my own comments without quoting and trying to degrade another person
there was never an argument from me
I was merely stating my opinions based on how I feel without disrespecting others
as far as the white supremest comment...
I feel more like a Black Man at a KLAN rally
enough of me I'm out of here
YOUR TURN!
