Thanks for sharing, I always enjoy Panic's Bonnaroo sets--went in 2003 specifically to see them and of course that was my fave so far--started raining during "Chilly Water", and Robert Randolph joined in while Warren Haynes was still playing along. Whew!
huntr, not a Kanye fan? :o) You and 80,000 others? |

I must say I was quite impressed with panic they played a tremendous show
the sheer volume of it tore through my campsite like a tornado on the last couple songs I could feel it in the air/ground
I cant imagine how loud that must have been in the pit or FOB
we were in camp directly even with the stage a couple of rows over.... maybe 50 yards behind the vip entrance to the main stage field and it sounded to me louder there than any of the bands I was on the field for
We watched it on the screens and stage for a while by the hospitality tents in vip camping and then walked over to our site where we could see it pretty good because of people who had already gone home
The clarity of that sound system at that volume and the ferocity of the performance combined kicked my ass it was one of the most compelling things I heard all weekend
I know next to nothing about panic and I dont know how those in attendance would rate this show against all of panics work but it was an unexpected highlight for me from what I would call an unlikely source before we left home for roo....
Ill know better next time |

Coming back to this one for a moment...
I really like this source
To my ear this source sounds more like what I heard that night than the other
After having spun both many many times I would say if you were AT bonnaroo .. you want this source
If you did not attend.. the other source might be a tad "cleaner" but it (to me) sounds less like what the naked ear would have heard on that lovely Tennessee evening |
