a great setlist, but a night of many flubs.
Carter1932 2008-06-23 14:27:08
Much appreciated!

I was at these shows, and granted it's not the best one the Dead ever performed, the playing is just fine and not below any average I ever experienced in the 12 years I followed 'em around. In fact, it's one of one of the BEST times I ever had at a show :-)

Thanks for this. I dont think I have this one. Getting close to Brents last skank, too. With a few notable exceptions, I think the Grateful Dead died with Brent. They just wernt the same after that. Hard to believe its going to be 18 years this July. Man.

This was my very first show, and needless to say it was a great time. I have seen comments about some slop and flubs during the show. It is not "exactly perfect" but it rocks, and any flubs are the result of a wild, energetic show rather than just going through the motions. Excellent opener of Help-Slipknot-Franklin's, China-Rider is very high energy and TOO-Morning Dew is great as well. I once saw a comment by Charlie Miller saying he prefers the next night to this show; being at them both, 7-19 was more "perfect" but I had a MUCH better time this night. If the two shows were dates, then 7-19 is the one you would take home to meet the parents and 7-18 is the one you would want to go out and party with!!

could someone seed this fix as well?

THIS FILE IS APPENDED FROM A PREVIOUS ETREE SEED. THAT TEXT FILE APPEARS BELOW. THIS SEED IS BASED ON CHARLIE MILLER'S SEED #26352. IF YOU HAVE SEED 26352, YOU NEED ONLY TO DOWNLOAD THE FOLLOWING FILES AND SUBSTITUTE FOR THE PREVIOUS SHN FILES:

gd90-07-18d1t01.shn
gd90-07-18d1t02.shn
gd90-07-18d2t07.shn
gd90-07-18d3t01.shn
gd90-07-18d3t02.shn
gd90-07-18d3t03.shn
gd90-07-18d3t04.shn
gd90-07-18.md5

THIS SEED IS BASED ON 26352, WITH CHANGES AS NOTED:

1. The beginning of Help on the Way is restored, including about 23 seconds of tuning and crowd noise, from the cassette master source (etree #12579).

2. Fixed tracking between d1t1 and d1t2.

3. d2t06 should be relabeled as "jam," not "drums." There is a cool four-minute theme after Terrapin.

4. d3t01 (drums) is now d2t07, following normal disk splitting convention. You may, of course, put it anywhere you'd like. Drums and space are seamless.

5. Fixed small gap at the beginning of d2t07.

6. Moved the last 30 seconds of space to the beginning of The Other One; this is where the Other One theme develops.

7. Cut about a minute of dead air before the encore.

8. Cut about 30 seconds of dead air after the encore.

lvrwm 2008-06-24 00:06:08
Thanks for posting this show. A Buddy and I went to both shows, and they were truely a fun time...now I will have the Soundboards to go along with my master audience recordings of the show..I remember walking out of this show and a guy selling "Corona" T-Shirts that listed Jerry Garcia as "La Guitarista Mas Fina", he gave me 3 shirts on my word I would send copies of the show to him...of course I mailed him his copies...and all was well in the land...what a time those days were..cheers:-)

Thank you so much for posting. I caught the first and last nights of the tour (Sandstone and Tinley Park) and have been casually looking to upgrade my cassettes of the tour. Wish I could upgrade my tickets to include the shows I missed in between!
walfredojak 2008-06-25 01:38:57
90% of the shows of the shows from the Brent Mydland era are better than 95% of the shows after Brent Mydland.
walfredojak 2008-06-25 12:29:08
how about the other summer 90 shows? Cal Expo, Shoreline, Rich Stadium, etc? are there CM versions? maybe I missed them:(
