friggin' schweet. 7-21-03 at the creek may just be the only show I've been to that I haven't ever had a copy of. One of few that I don't have a lossless DL of. Plus, summer 03 was some serous rockin' shit! Most excellent, and thank you.

I started seeing Phish and the Grateful Dead around the same time (1991). Shortly after catching 8 or so of the Phish shows from the summer 1993 tour, i became disenchanted with Phish shows, and stopped seeing them perform, spending all my time seeing Jerry and the boys. By the time Jerry passed I was a full fledged Phish hater. I wasn;t one of these tour rats that quick jumped to Phish tour, due to lack of Grateful Dead in my life, and never went back to see them until a show in the fall of 1997, it was so bad that i walked out at set break. Then I tried again to "Get It" at a show during the summer of 1998, this time I stayed till the end, but still wasn't at all impressed. Then finally once again in 1999 I saw a single show and was even more unimpressed then the previous two times. At that point in time I promised myself I was done even trying to get into Phish. Fast forward to this Cricket pavilion show. I was stayingin San Diego at the time, and a old dear friend of mine shanghaid me and forced me to travel to Phoenix. I was shocked at how much i enjoyed the show. So I went back to San Diego the next night and saw the Chula Vista show, and enjoyed it even more then the Cricket show. To make a long story short, I got very addicted to Phish. Caught not only every show on this summer tour, but nearly every show they played until Coventry. I know a lot of folks say that this summer tour was lackluster in comparison to tours past, but to me it was some of the best music I had ever seen performed. Add to that the wonderful crew of folks I fell in with, and you have a complete turnaround in my musical life. Thank you Phish. I am so glad that I got "dragged" to this show, and so glad that my stubborness didn't keep me from enjoying the last year and a half of Phish shows. I have not gathered many of the shows from this tour, but am looking forward to going back and checking them out again. So thank you for this seed, and all those Summer 03 show to come.

i never could see any leverage to the "2003 sucked" crowd. Every show i saw in 03 was outstanding...all 15 of them. Something clicked in 03 that took them 20+ years to discover. It was like the finally found that hidden door musically and opened it up unleashing the most thick sonic stew ever. I felt that they were revitalized in 03. This summer tour raged!!!!

there was no theatrical goofyness, no Trey babble, no giant inflatable penises, just tight, no-nonsense, ass-kicking, brain-exploding music in the summer 03 shows I saw. I missed the goofyness and banter, but it was replaced by some wham-bam-thank-you maam professional musicianship.
